The food here is amazing and has actual flavor???????????? I got the country fried chicken with the sausage gravy ????my bf got the truckers meal. Opens at 6am which is so convient and the lady had amazing service. It was a little cold because they just opened but the lady asked I we wanted the head turned up and we said yes. It didn't take too long for it to get warm but she was such a sweetheart. Great service and amazing food! ???? props to the cook. The portions were a lot and definitely worth it. $15 each plate
Omg great people (staff) and great food. What more can you want?! The pancakes here are worth the money. You won't leave hungry, but you also won't break the bank. Seriously - tip your waitresses. These ladies work hard with a smile, and I love it. I'm honestly mad that I didn't give this spot a chance sooner. I got the double play and was pleasantly surprised that they carved an actual piece of ham. I can't go back to IHOP. I'm spoiled now.
Nice looking little diner. No GF bread so that was too bad. My fiance's pancakes were good, there was too much of them, though. My steak and cheese omelet was tasty but had chunks of steak instead of shredded steak as the sub form would be. The "crispy" bacon was not but still tasted good. At just under $30 for the two of us, it wasn't badly priced. And on the wall display menus, to the folks at Charlie's: you do not make plurals of words with apostrophes! And where you have "charlies" written, that one should have an apostrophe!
Charlie is an old childhood favorite . I grew up in town and spent a lot of my teenage years there .but with that being said, I was a little disappointed in the food . I asked for crisy bacon. I got a pile of crumpled up bacon . And everything else was cold . The service was ok . And the place has not changed in 30 years . On a plus note I loved the music they were playing
It's a cute old school diner. We were a group of 5 with 3 kids and got right in. The staff was so accommodating and upbeat. They were very busy but we were able to order right away and our food came out shortly after. Everything we ordered was great and service was impeccable. Our waitress Heather was great with the kids and was so pleasant. All around great experience, we will definitely be back!
The staff were pleasant and attentive refilling coffee several times. Unfortunately my pancakes were burnt and I should have said something but was with several others and didn’t want to hold them up.
The chef had to know they were burnt so why serve them to a customer. This was not our first time at Charlies
usually the food is excellent.I do wish I had said something because they were not eatable.Will return just not anytime soon.
I can't believe that I have lived in West Springfield for over ten years and today was my first time visiting this beautiful diner. The staff is extremely generous, the place is very fast paced yet is so taken care of and the food above all is one of the best in town and very affordable. The staff is awesome, you ask and they give. I can eat breakfast there all day and not have a single regret or even lunch. The setting of the restaurant is such a vibe. It's very classic as if you were eating back in time in a Western diner. The Elvis and Betty Boop posters and music is really cool. I encourage anyone to stop by if your from the area or even not.
I have to say I’m disappointed in a few things with this place. The floor needs a major cleaning, they need new cups because there were cracks and dents in mine. The bathroom looks like an entrance to Jigsaws house with the light off. Flies flying around. Staff was not wearing gloves while handling food.
Looks can definitely be deceiving! The Omelette was bland and so were the home fries.
The only good things worth going for are the Pancakes and the Toast.
