Food was delicious and tasty ! I got the Chicken Kabob dinner With the Lemon egg Soup Very good.
Father got Charcoal Flame Salad with their house made Dressing . Was my first time but won't be my last time .
Okay service except for one of the people—owners son has a huge attitude and ego. (i noticed he does with his employees as well!) How do you expect people to return to your restaurant if you don’t treat your customers right? Been coming here since forever and rest assured that i won’t be back anytime soon!
Nestled in Morton Grove, Charcoal Flame is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary haven where the enchanting aroma of grilled delights mingles with impeccable service. Picture this: a vibrant ambiance, meticulously prepared dishes over charcoal flames, and a menu that promises a symphony of flavors.
During my recent visit, an unexpected incident occurred—I accidentally nudged a tray, sending all my plates crashing to the floor before I even had a chance to start my meal. Feeling embarrassed, I stood up, apologized, and offered to pay for another gyro plate. To my surprise, the owner approached with a reassuring smile, saying, "No worries! All good—we will prepare another one." This gracious response not only showcased their outstanding customer service but also highlighted the warmth and kindness of the people behind Charcoal Flame.
And let's talk about the food! I ordered a gyro plate with a house salad. The gyro was a delightful surprise—crunchy and extremely tasty. The smoky essence from the charcoal flames elevated the flavors to a whole new level. As for the house salad, it was nothing short of spectacular. Fresh, vibrant, and perfectly complementing the richness of the gyro. Beyond the unexpected hiccup, Charcoal Flame stands out as one of the best dining experiences I've had. From perfectly grilled steaks to flavorful kebabs, each dish carries a distinct smoky essence that tantalizes the taste buds. The combination of exceptional food and the genuine hospitality displayed by the owner and the team makes Charcoal Flame a must-visit destination. It's not just a meal; it's an unforgettable journey into the heart of exceptional dining.
We had the combo:The beef and sausage are both homemade by the father of the owners. The spice profile of the sausage is a unique blend of Italian and Greek spices and butterflied and chargrilled perfectly. The beef was tender and sliced heartily. The gravy was well developed with a nice spice to it. Gardineria and green peppers were flavorful and plentiful and the bread had a great crust and really held up to being dipped. The ratio of sausage to beef was plentiful. Another greek owned generational family joint crushing it.
Obviously when you’re looking for a place to eat you first care about the food quality then the service quality and of course the atmosphere of that place
In my case food and service it’s the most important and this is what I found at this place.
I was looking for a low key place to eat authentic food
My family and I we stop to dine in and we ordered few different items from their wide menu, including “today special”
For the food quality and presentation I would rate the place 5 out of 5
For the service quality I would rate it 4.5 out of 5
And that because they served the side dish way before the main dish.
For the dine in atmosphere at that place I would rate it 4 out of 5 since the place needs some repairs here and there including the bathroom but of course it’s not important if you choose to take out/ to go
Again overall I was very impressed in a good way and I highly recommend it
Kudos to the owner and the staff
Having grown up in Thessaloniki it’s the one thing I miss the most - a good old gyro sandwich. Best gyros “west of Greece”!!! Hit the spot! Bravo paides!!
I've worked in Morton Grove for 26 years and we have patronized this location often and have always found the food to be consistently great and the service to be Timely and I'm actually on my way there this now! Highly recommend. The Greek gyros are phenomenal and I also love the American Style. Stop by if you're in the area you'll be glad you did
Wow, was told about this place by a friend. As soon as you walk in two things hit ya immediately. First, the aroma of the food, Second the warm greeting. I had the Greek Gyro, OMG, I’ll never have another standard veal/beef gyro again. The Greek is all pork, so tender, juicy with, crisp ends!!! I will have to control myself, knowing this place is here. Oh, BTW. You should see the salads!!!! Single serving is big enough to feed a family!!!!! Try it, you won’t regret it!!!
