Jessica was amazing! We had a great experience, food was very tasty, portions were very big and service was amazing. Highly recommend. We will definitely return. The salmon special was great, and so was the chicken kabobs. The location is also perfect, right next to the beautiful Virginia Tech campus. The highlight was Jessica, she provided exceptional service. Definitely check this place out if you are ever in Blacksburg!
I asked for the Mad Greek on pita bread, rather than the sub it came with, as I preferred the softer style of bread
The bread came out pretty good - it was pretty soft, cooked well, and had some char marks but wasn't overly so
The 12-inch that I ordered was actually two separate 6-inch subs, where each was honestly quite large - enough for a single person to finish
Using a lot of willpower, I managed to finish both of them, but it was pretty difficult and required a few breaks
The reason for this was the beef
I can't discuss the beef without first discussing the portion size. Each pita bread was absolutely loaded with beef - I mean completely stuffed
When you'd pick it up, even without a first bite, the beef would already be falling out, and this would continue throughout the eating process
until there was an accumulation of pieces on the plate. Due to how packed this was, each bite was like 80% beef. Some may not like this,
but because the beef was pretty flavorful, I loved it - you really get your moneys worth with this
Since there was so much meat on the sandwich, I really didn't taste much of the other toppings - like olives, onions, peppers, and spinach.
There was a little bit of cheese but I felt like there could've been more
The lettuce was definitely there but I didn't like how it was just in two huge pieces rather than evenly distributed across in smaller pieces
The mostly-beefness did make the flavor a bit one-note as there weren't really many differing flavors in the different bites
Lastly, the tzatziki sauce was pretty good - it was a bit unequally distributed but there was a good amount of it - and it certainly was present
in most bites
For the price of around 15 dollars, this much food is really good. I might recommend getting the 12 inch and splitting it among two people so it'd
be pretty cheap per person
Overall, a pretty well-packed, if one-note, gyro-like option at an incredible portion size. 8.25/10
The Spinake and Artichoke Dip is a great appetizer. The Gyro and Cellar House Special Pizza are great entrees. It's been a while since I've had ginger ale as a fountain drink, too. This is a good place that seems to be very popular amongst the college students and residents of Blacksburg.
Wow! Their mussels are fantastic! I order them wherever available on a restaurant menu and not all are created equal. Their broth made me swoon, and I have to say, their version of mussels is probably the best I’ve eaten. And they were reasonable priced! I did a double-take at the menu to make sure I correctly read the price. I expected a very small portion because they were much less expensive than others I have had from other restaurants; was I surprised! Portion was generous and flavor was heavenly.
We also ordered the Prime Rib sandwich and found that flavorful as well. Delicious!
Courtney L. provided great service. She was there when we wanted something and was efficient and friendly. Great experience!
Delicious food. Good drinks. Great atmosphere. It was packed when we arrived. We waited for a table for a bit. Enjoyed our visit.
I recently dined at Cellar Restaurant in Blacksburg and overall had a delightful experience. The ambiance was inviting, and the service was excellent. The menu offered a diverse selection, and the dishes were well-presented. However, I did notice that the asparagus in my dish didn't seem as fresh as I expected. Despite this minor flaw, the overall dining experience was satisfying, and I would still recommend it to others.
so busy,,had to wait a lot.
Foods were nice but felt that the roast beef tasted a quiet plain (no flavor)
Great spot downtown with a nice and relaxed vibe. Came here with a few friends for dinner and would definitely come back! I got the chicken souvlaki kabobs, which were cooked very well. Neither the asparagus nor the chicken were dry, and the rest of my friends were also very happy with what they got.
Service was great, except their default tip options for when you pay were 25, 23, and 22% which is definitely questionable.
