Iconic. 3:30 on a Thursday afternoon. A few regulars holding down the fort. Bartender says she has no cook but could make us a Heggie's frozen pizza or "fry some stuff." Went with the pizza. It was everything I ever wanted in a pizza. I went because of the rumoured connection to the song, "Here Comes a Regular" by The Replacements. Or The Placemats as admirers often refer to them. Talked with the pool players. They said on weekends the 21-24 year-olds pack the place. But on this crisp spring afternoon, it was just us regulars.
Great vibe and atmosphere for a Friday night outing! It was so packed that we stood to drink for the first 30 minutes but once I got a table, I had an appetite worked up for some wings. The staff were also very attentive and checked on me constantly. Highly recommend and would return!
This bar is fun, but there's this one worker with blonde hair I don't know her name but she's super rude and has pretty much upset me enough with her passive aggressive attitude to write this. You'll probably know the one because everyone else is chill if you regular here. She makes her own rules that aren't the bars like telling me I'm not allowed to be on a phone call outside minding my own business quietly and also demanding that you can't be here if you don't tip (Context, I always tip, there was one night I didn't have enough cash on my last drink and she told me to go home because I have no tip on the last one and refused to serve despite giving her many tips prior!) Not a nice person. Still giving the bar a 4 because people here are awesome, but this worker is really nasty passive aggressive, the whole "minnesota nice".
Typical dive but it’s such a vibe. Food is good, service depends on the time of day but our server tonight was cool and attentive. Women’s bathroom’s are a tight squeeze and the tiny hole in the door is a bit weird… other than that, you got booths, Christmas lights, and cheap rail drinks, what more could you ask for?
I had a HORRIBLE experience here. I waited at the bar for 10 minutes and after I ordered a drink a waitress came and stood in front of me telling me I could not stand there. This was my first time at this establishment.. The manager was sitting beside me and saw no issue with the way she spoke to me and handled me as a customer. I WILL CONTINUE TO LEAVE REVIEWS BECAUSE THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS.
On the weekends it can be crazy and so Service is a little slow but that’s not their fault. It’s nice that there’s security there because like any places, they have idiots. They seem to have a great team working there. I always seem to get there after work so I’ve never been able to try any of the food(that’s why I can’t give five stars) It’s a local kind of a dive bar but it’s popular.. a little spendy, but good pours!
CC Club is an institution, so it feels strange even trying to review it. Regardless, I’ll say for those who don’t know that CC is that neighborhood jawn. It’s the spot where you will eventually know everyone, see everything, and always return to like home. It’s a cool old dive bar that does dive non-ironically. This is the real deal and always has been.
The staff here is terrible. Treated us poorly the entire time. There weren't any open tables, so we were standing (making sure there was still a walk way by us) the server kept rudely yelling at us telling us we needed to find a place to sit, though there weren't any places to sit... the bar tenders were also not very friendly. If you're looking for a trashy hipster bar with terrible service, this is it!
