Ok..... this is not your everyday truck stop! Driving in, you get the truck stop vibe, but walking in you instantly are old school diner feal! Place was super clean, and the staff was frendly as can be. Saying that the food just stole the show! Everything was just cooked to perfection, and I kept wanting another bite. Give this place a chance, and you will not be surprised. Absolutely delicious! Only recommendations i would have is I had to eat my gumbo with a tea spoon.... a good soup spoon would have just put this over the top!
I have to leave one star because of the customer service. It needs to get better! I was referred to this place by a colleague and have been wanting to try it especially because I get out of school at night and don’t have anything good to eat. The first night I went, I placed my order and waited 30 minutes after being told it’ll take only 15 minutes. After waiting, I go back to pay for my order and leave to find out they hadn’t started on the order because “he didn’t have the ticket” basically saying my order wasn’t paid for which was the cashier’s fault for not doing her job. I went again tonight to try to order after school and here we go again! I read the room and everyone looked and talked as if they didn’t want to be bothered. To say this place was recommended to me, I’m disgusted. The food is probably great but I probably will NEVER be able to even put in an order and another thing! CHANGE YOUR LISTED HOURS OR CORRECT YOUR EMPLOYEES. IS IT 9:30? 9:45? Or 10 o’clock like it says online?
We stopped for the night and read a few restaurant reviews before choosing Cash’s. I am happy to report that they did not disappoint! We had the fish dinner and the etouffee and both were amazing! The portions were SO large that we HAD TO take some home with us to Texas! We will be back for sure! Prices were great and the wait staff were exceptional. I rarely leave reviews, but this place deserves 5 stars!
Easy parking, rough terrain but thats expected in this state, food in the diner was fantastic. The staff in the diner was very welcoming and professional, while wholesome and made the atmosphere feel homey. The food was very good and came out fast, i will for sure make this a stop from now on!
I ordered liver and onions. It was OK. Let the picture speak for itself. I was hungry, it was late, and this was the only late night option besides Waffle House in the area.
The server was tired, ready to go home, and more concerned with counting the drawer to get off shift. I had to ask the cook to bring me silverware and hot sauce after he brought me my plate of food. The appearance of everything in front of the counter was nice and clean. There was some clutter behind the counter and eye sorers.
Tried Cashs diner for the first time ever and was not disappointed! I ordered the grilled fish and shrimp and my husband got the fried fish and shrimp. We both had side salads and they were fresh and crisp. They also brought me a service of greens which were very flavorful. The food was delicious and the waitress, Rhonda, was very nice. By the time we finished our food, we were going to order a piece of cake but it got busy and we were too short on time to wait. Rhonda was the only waitress working at the time. Would definitely recommend!
This diner is a hit or miss. You don't know what you're gonna get on any given day. So, tonight my husband and I ordered chicken poboys. He got the fried and I got the grilled. First, it's important to note that there's a website for Cash's diner that has a menu indicating the chicken poboy comes with a chicken breast (not chopped pieces). When we got the poboy we were suprised to learn they came with chicken pieces used on their salads. The poboys were tasteless and overly saturated with mayo. Therefore, the bread was wet and torn to pieces and could not be handheld like a poboy. I live less than five minutes away, so the food should have been fresh. The lady answering phone said the problem is they don't have a website and there has been many owners and the menu keeps changing. Well, they should fix that problem. They need to update or remove the online menu. Next, we both ordered onion rings. Their onion rings are usually good, but tonight they were horrible! Burnt and greasy. There is so much inconsistency with this diner, that I will no longer patronize it. This was a waste of my $31.30.
The food is off the chain. I had the fried fish and shrimp combo. There was plenty of truck parking when I got there, around 8:00 PM. There was a bad traffic jam on I-10. So I stopped for the night. The shower room was scary. Somebody else's hair in the sink. Everything else was clean, just old, rusty, and scary looking. The water worked good. No scalding, good pressure. There's all kinds of snacks and drinks in the store part.
