I got a slice of cheese, a slice of pepperoni and the Italian antipasto salad. The pizza was DELICIOUS! It was a New York slice but it was thin and the sauce was soooo flavorful. The crust was small and soft, not a crunchy pizza but excellent. The lettuce in the salad was crunchy and fresh. The salami in salad tasted old and there was another meat in there that tasted like beef jerky. The older man who checked me out was very kind.
I haven’t had an experience like this in a long time. The food was delicious and the service was beyond amazing. Our meeting let out and we showed up with 15 people around closing time. We looked up the reviews and we really wanted to try this place out. We expected to get turned away, but instead they cooked fresh plates of food for everyone. The chef came out and talked to us about how the dishes were made and poured wine for us with a smile on his face. The dessert was so good we ordered a whole cheesecake to take back with us. I highly recommend if you are in the area. You will not regret it.
I had the loveliest experience here with my brother after catching a show at the Florida Theatre! The staff was extremely nice and helped us make food choices. The atmosphere was very authentic and "mom and pop" which I loved.
Other than the service, the food was the absolute best part of our visit :) We had the chicken florentine, meatballs, and meat pie! They were all delicious and homemade— I'll definitely be back with friends.
From the ambience, friendly genuine service, and some of the most authentic Italian I have had in a long time. Strongly recommend and will be coming back!!
I decided to try Casa Dora before I head over to the Florida Theater to see Grupo Niche. My goodness the food was beautiful and delicious. The atmosphere is so relaxing and the staff is friendly.
Add this place to your *must visit* restaurant list!! We were welcomed so warmly upon entering- you go to a counter where the food is displayed. The chef(I think also the owner) took time to describe every option in detail *and with pride*. It is all fresh made in house- no frozen stuff. You go sit down and they deliver food to the table after it's cooked/warmed.

The walls are covered with autographs and pictures of visitors whom I think were mostly performers at the Florida Theatre next door coming over after their show. Super charming throughout.
The girl at the front/also our waitress was very excited to tell us she made three different cheesecakes and all were gone except one slice. It was brownie cheesecake and she wanted us to have it. No charge.
She was not around when we left and I didn't get to tell her it was FANTASTIC! Make sure you ask if she has any when you visit!
I eat late so I was not expecting it to be busy but there was only one family there when we arrived. I hope this review results in them having a line out the door!
Absolutely loved this place!! It’s a hole in the wall. Angie, the server, and Sam, the chef and owner of this lovely restaurant were so delightful!! We were immediately greeted and were told to sit wherever we would like :) Sam came up to us immediately and made us feel like we were at home. You can tell he was passionate about his job! I Angie was also so kind and asked us if we had any questions about the menu. The food was amazing, truly homemade— everything fresh and from scratch. The chef personally came up to us as we were eating asking if we liked the food! It felt like a great atmosphere, I truly enjoyed everyone’s friendliness there. I eat out quite a bit and you don’t see that a lot anymore!! By far one of the best experiences I have ever had when going out, truly!! I’ll be letting all my friends know around town to come check this wonderful place out ???? I’ll definitely be back!!
In my many trips to Jacksonville for business I have never stopped at this place until tonight. Just a short walk from the river front Casa Dora is as close as one can get to being in Italy while never leaving Jacksonville. As you walk in you are greeted by the most kind gentleman who seats you and then provides you with the specials of the day. One special was the taste of Italy. The meal was amazing with rich flavor and delicious sauce. I had the veal parmigiana and it was so tender and simply marvelous. I am so glad that I was able to find this place and count down the days until we can come again. Thank you to the kind sir who waited on us! I highly recommend this place to anyone.
