First time in. Place was kinda dumpy. Owner gave me a hard time about using a credit card and was skimpy with the napkins. He didn’t like the large group I brought in (the sign on the door says only 4 people are allowed ?!?!) so he gave me the cold stare of disapproval. Who needs this? The ice cream was okay but it was overshadowed by the terrible CS experience. Won’t be back.
Older man came out from the back after I waited and called out and was obnoxiously rude! I had questions about ordering a cake and he only made snide remarks without answering my questions. He told me to just pick a cake from the case and put it in my freezer. Thanks to the internet I was able to get the recipe for the crunchies and made my daughter’s birthday cake myself!!!!
Older guy, who is the owner, is extremely rude and always makes side remarks to either my boyfriend or myself. He once yelled at my boyfriend for paying with a card instead of cash (they have a small sign on their register, but those ordering will not notice until AFTER they make the ice cream and ask for payment). Definitely should have a sign on the door when we walk in BEFORE we order, especially for those that do not carry cash on them. Even after my boyfriend politely apologized, the guy still managed to take the card for payment after complaining that “us people make him spend $500 a month when we pay with card under $15.” After I placed my order today, he asked me if I wanted a lid and when I replied yes, he made a sarcastic comment like “were you just not gonna mention it?” I did not think it was that big of a deal and as the worker, he ideally should just be asking those questions anyway. Definitely tired of dealing with this guy and will not be returning. Their ice cream is delicious but I recommend just going to a different carvel.
There is an older gentleman that is so down right rude here. I stood there for atleast 10 minutes, while he stood in the back. He finally came to ask me what I wanted, I told him I wanted a medium cup of ice cream. He scooped it and didn’t even bother asking me if I wanted any toppings. When I told him that I wanted hot fudge. His words quote on quote “why do you tell me now instead of yesterday”. I couldn’t even believe the kind of customer service he just gave me. I told him to just forget it. He then took my card and brought it to the back to punch in my numbers. Very sketchy, and rude service
WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT COME HERE. The owner ix extremely rude and does not deserve to own a business. He called me and my dad an a-hole when we just went to celebrate something. Dont waste your time and go to a different one nearby.
Got bottom of the barrel hard serve Vanilla, tasted like peppermint and was very grainy and doughy??? Service was bad too, an older guy actually sighed when I paid with a card.
This issue isn’t the once cream but the need to touch the food with bare HANDS ! Its gross ! Then they take your card/money . They need to be more clean and mindful.
So glad I finally visited this Carvel. I haven’t had their ice cream since I was a kid, and one taste brought me right back.
A cute little place with lots of variety considering the size (pre-made items like cakes — which are made on premises — and a variety of hard of soft ice creams, sundaes and shakes.
The cherry on top (pun intended) was the gentleman working behind the counter. Friendly, dropping jokes and cracking us up while taking our orders, answering our questions and serving us.
Can’t wait to go back!
