Best WLM Reviews

Me and my wife stopped in on Christmas eve in the early afternoon. Not many people in and we had never eaten there. Got seated quickly. Wife ordered the burrito vegano and I got a al pastor burrito. The burritos were huge and the salsa that came with them was amazing and nicely spicy. We hadn't eaten breakfast so having a huge meal was nice, didn't need to eat much for dinner that night. I also had the Mexican mocha which was really nice.
We came back a few weeks later on a Sunday, it was much busier and noisier but it is a small place and it was pretty full. We got seated and our server from last time came over to say hi and that she remembered us. This time my wife ordered the tofu fajitas bowl and I ordered the torta ahgada which I was warned was very spicy which was good for me. Food came out quickly for how busy they were. My torta was fantastic and the spice was right on, it cleared my sinuses that was for sure. Service both times was great and the food was spectacular. Will be coming back here often.
If you're looking for bomb drinks this is the spot in Walnut Creek! Is a small place but is so worth checking it out. The ambiance is so welcoming, the staff is super nice and friendly they'll make sure you're well taken of. The drinks are the best I've had in California! And I've been everywhere in Cali. Make sure you ask for Cesar at the bar! He's such a great bartender, amazing drinks, immaculate service. We will drive over 30 minutes for this place any day of the week.
Great food, great vibes, great drinks. This is authentic Mexican food! The flavor is there in all their dishes, the customer service is okay. If you during peak hours expect to wait anywhere from 30-60 minutes for your food and for it to get cold before you finish.
Start your meal off with nachos and a raspberry margarita (however they brought me a strawberry even after I asked to verify I was getting raspberry) Then make your way to the steak tacos or sopes (the sopes are appetizers so they are not the full size sope). The quesadilla was big so you could definitely share. The portions vary. The tacos come with a good amount of meat. The molcajete was disappointing. I wanted the meat and shrimp to have more flavor but it didn’t. The guacamole isn’t that good either.
On Sunday afternoon they had a live dj which played great music (English and Spanish).
We noticed that they have two different menus, one left out several dishes so if you don’t see the protein bowls then you have the shorter menu. Our table got both so I don’t think it changes depending on the time.
I’ve had breakfast, lunch and dinner at this place multiple times and it just keep getting worse. Tonight, I ordered two orders of enchiladas w/out onions. Of course, both came w soooo many onions. We were extremely explicit about not having onions and therefore were extremely disappointed. In general their service and quality of food has gone down. At least the drinks were good.
Remarkably mediocre (to below average) food.
First off, Is it not standard that chips and salsa be served at a sit down Mexican eatery? At roughly $15-20 per person, this food leaves a lot to be desired.
You leave hungry, disappointed at the price, and honestly the flavor is nowhere near as good as your local taco truck that is putting out $2 tacos worth coming back for.
The service was forgettable (like literally they forgot about us and never refilled a drink until after the meal was done), the food wasn’t good, they were out of some of the meat choices, and the prices were ridiculously high. Everything good about Mexican food is neglected at this restaurant.
I will say, the plate presentation is amazing. But focus on good food before you spend so much time on presentation. It’s like putting lipstick on a pig, and honestly made the meal that much more disappointing.
My carne asada torta tasted like a bad Philly cheesesteak. It certainly wasn’t a torta worth $14 or whatever the price was. The rice was great, but at $4 for a side, it was pathetically small. Rice is like 15¢ a cup. It’s okay to serve a decent portion when you charge $4.
Overall, pick something better Walnut Creek has to offer. If you want Mexican, stick to a local mom and pop joint that is grilling up authentic taco truck style food for cheap.
Seemed like a nice place. We waited a long time for our food and had to ask multiple people multiple times for water to drink and lime for our appetizer. Cheviche seemed fresh but not too flavorful. When the main entrée came, soup was warm but burrito was cold. Rather than wait another 30 min for another burrito, we sent it back and decided to eat elsewhere ????‍♀️ Not sure if this is normal but you can also see that the soup bowl is less than half full. Photo was taken before I ate anything.
We came here around 3pm on a Tuesday. Got the birria chicken wings(A MUST), the taco plate(which was 1/2 off on Tuesday), a carne asada burrito, mangonada margaritas and strawberry margaritas(also half off on Tuesday)
Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. I plan to come back again soon!
Husband and I went there for brunch, and we enjoyed eating here. We ordered chilaquiles, and have to say that they were very flavorful. We appreciate the authentic Mexican flavor.
