I'm standing right outside Capital Doner, a charming little eatery hidden amidst the hustle and bustle of the DC area. The tantalizing aromas wafting through the air are already making my mouth water. As I step inside, the cozy ambiance welcomes me, and I can't help but notice the sizzle of meats on the grill. It's a small place with a big personality, promising an explosion of flavors that beckon all adventurous food lovers passing through DC.
The restaurant was clean and the staff was amazing. I've spent so many years looking for something close to a Turkish döner like they have in Germany. Everything in the US is more Greek like a Gyro. The food was delicious and they shaved the meat specifically for my wrap. This wasn't because they were slow, because they had several customers in there eating it ordering food, and the wait wasn't long at all. Their fries could have been better, but they aren't why I went anyway. I'll definitely be back!
Iskender was delicious. I really enjoyed it. Portion seemed small first but it was good and filling amount. Location wise inside is a bit small but especially for warmer weather they have a nice outdoor seating area. Next time planning to try their doner wraps. Also i suggest their baklava as well. It was really tasty.
Very very good, not as good as in Germany but still best in the US. Every time I’m in DC I go there, easy to access from the metro. Authenticity Turkish, beef Döner wrap is my favorite.
Absolutely delicious Chicken Doner box, wrap, and pita. Try each one and good luck deciding which one is best! Hint! They ALL are! Do not forget the best Turkish Baklava you're ever going to have outside of Turkey! It will be better than your grandmother's! Shh I won't tell! Go

I love the doner here. Best Turkish Doner in DC by far. Just found out about this place and the atmosphere, crew and the food is just unmatched in the area.

I recently visited Capital Doner and had an exceptional experience. The chicken and beef pita were absolutely delicious, with perfectly seasoned meat and fresh toppings. The staff were very courteous and provided top-notch customer service, making the dining experience even more enjoyable ????
Update: 5/4/2024:
I read the manager's response and the end starting with "we invite you..." was insulting and is probably not how you want to publicly address a customer. Oh, just my review was from 3 years ago -- I've been there many times since.

Update, May 2024. They just don't have the selection that they used to. They have only 2 baklava types now Instead of 8. They used to have a much wider variety of veggies and condiments for the doner kebab. It just seems like they aren't trying anymore. And the rice was crunchy tonight. Downgrading 5 to 3 stars. Plus, it's pricey for what it is.

The donor was really good. nice add-on options and sauces. And the pistachio baklava was really good.
I went back on a Saturday when they had just received their baklava shipment from Turkey, so I'm updated the baklava photo. Great baklava!
