Always love the food and service at Canton Garden. After a long day I can call ahead for the amazing House Fried Rice, the hearty Egg Drop Soup and an order of egg roll and am always satisfied and glad I did!!! Quick pick up and a great meal, not to heavy and not to light!
Canton Gardens has always been my favorite Chinese take out in Robbinsdale as I grew up there and have been frequenting them for years. Lately however, their food has not lived up to my expectations. I believe they are under new ownership and I don't feel their food is as good. I ordered chicken egg foo young, which was fine, but the fried rice was terrible, almost burnt rice mixed with soy sauce, and my egg rolls seemed to be just spring rolls but kind of deep fried and soggy. This was the 2nd time I was disappointed with the food but will try it maybe once more and hope for the best, otherwise I may be looking for a new place!!
Have went here many times before. The food is reasonable and very glad. Service was fast, and person working very polite, helpful and nice.
The decor is very old and outdated but for a change I like that. I have went to this restaurant for over 40 years. It's clean, somewhat plain according to other restaurants but brings back good memories.
One of my favorite chinese restaurants ever! Food is always fresh and delicious, we've never had a bad order here. Atmosphere is austere/minimal but one doesn't go there for the ambience but for the food. Affordable and fast, absolutely recommend this place.
Best fried rice! Great lo-mein! Portions are huge- enough for leftovers for 1-2 lunches. The owners are super nice and the place is usually fairly busy. If you don't war to wait, call ahead and order to go.
If I had an option to give zero stars I would. The chicken fried rice was so mushy it tasted as if it was prepared several days earlier and repeatedly reheated.. I also ordered orange chicken. The chicken pieces were way to large to enjoy. My 10 year old who usually eats anything, also said the food was disgusting. I was told the food here was really good. I'm sorry I have to disagree. It tasted bland and was very mushy. I will not be a return customer.
The best Chinese food in the Twin Cities, bar none. The chicken is cooked to a perfect crisp. The fried rice (my personal favorite) is real fried rice, not like the pudding-like boxed rice served by so many Chinese restaurants. They serve generous portions of pork and beef. They didn't used to serve a lot of shrimp or seafood if that was your meal, but now they do!
When it comes to straight value, Canton Garden is the way to go. They make their customers feel appreciated even when they're at their busiest.
Love this place. Generous portions (especially for the reasonable price) fresh large cut vegetables, flavorful sauces and perfectly cooked protein every time. A 5th star awarded if the place was decorated a bit more. Don't miss out on this hidden gem.
