The food was just a little off. That's the best way to put it. The white French dressing on the salad was almost good, just missing something. The Pomegranate apple sangria was a miss as well. I did not care for the marinara either, and I was disappointed the sweet potato fries did not come with a sauce. Putting whole mushrooms on a burger is a little weird, and calling barely cooked onions caramelized is a little misleading. The service was fast and friendly.
We have been here several times when we are in town. Always excellent food, service and location. The staff is very friendly and accommodating! On Mother's Day, we had 4 Mom's from one family and we were all satisfied! I live in California and love good food that's not over priced. The cocktails were amazing also. Mama Mia sangria! Yeah! ????
Really good American food! There is a great little cocktail menu full of tasty drinks at reasonable price. The dishes are good and include steaks, chops, chicken, and seafood platter. You must order the French Onion soup as it is really delicious! Great sandwich menu as well with Reuben and seafood Reuben.. Service is great and the servers are exceptional...
The blackened salmon was delicious, the waitress was very polite and helpful. The restaurant was clean. There was outside dining but we chose inside. Met the owner and he showed an extra room for private parties. Kids enjoyed the food as well. Wonderful place to eat.
We love going here for dinner but it’s also a great place to host a larger gathering. My family and friends recently had a surprise party for my birthday in the side room. It was the perfect amount of space, the food was delicious and our server did an amazing job handling such a large group!! The sesame chicken is my absolute favorite thing to get along with a side salad with their homemade white french dressing. Thank you Canal Grille for a great meal AND a great celebration!!!
I don't know if they're trying to be different or just lazy. The mushroom and caramelized onion burger, no Swiss which is weird and super dry. The onions were barely sauteed let alone caramelized. Cucumber in the salad was just a giant chunk. No brown butter for sweet potato fries. Everything is kind of bland, maybe it's an older people establishment
This is one of my favorite places to eat. Great food, quiet crowd. Nice little bar area. They also have a banquet room for bigger parties. Get the cashew chicken, it's awesome.
Just got back from eating at this establishment for the first time, and I left feeling so irritated, to say the least. I got my lunch special shrimp scampi, and it was so watered down that it had no flavor. Which is hard to do with all the garlic. It was swimming in garlic water. When I let the poor overworked waitress know, she was very apologetic about it. Her manager said she would only take off half price, and I was not ok with that, considering I ate 1 shrimp and a few bits of noodles. The manager came by the table to let me know that shrimp scampi isn't seasoned with spices. I let her know the problem was the puddle of water at the bottom of my dish, not the seasoning. She ended up charging me for the full price soup that came with the meal. So in the end she got her half price but lost a local customer. Horrible first experience. If she tried or even looked at the dish I sent back, she would've seen the water and saved her condescending remarks.
