Best WLM Reviews

My boyfriend and me were visiting Pittsburgh to see some local sites and were trying to figure out dinner. We love trying new cultural food and neither of us had Cambodian food before.
One, the owner/staff here are amazing. It’s a family run business and they made amazing recommendations and were so fun. Caitlin is absolutely awesome and we’d love to go see them again.
The food was hands down some of the best we’ve had. I had the beef stew, the beef falls apart in your mouth and is so rich and fatty. Then with the onions and bites of cilantro it is so fresh. My boyfriend had the tilapia which was also so flavorful and fresh. We also had the spring rolls and chicken kabobs (get the moon sauce over top!).
This place is amazing. The food was phenomenal and the portion size was great. I would definitely recommend coming here for good food and service.
The best spot on Southside to grab some grub after partying the night away. The chicken on a stick with fried rice is legendary.
The owner himself is a whole show. He goes all out to make sure you feel welcomed and takes care of you. He must been a former comedian because he makes conversation out of thin air with ease and has rapid fire comebacks for your replies.
The food itself is a bit pricier but priced accordingly for Southside. You definitely get your money's worth with the huge portion that the food comes in.
Some of the food is ???????????????????? while some of the food is meh. I highly recommend the shrimp spring rolls and chicken on a stick.
Love this place and the family that runs it! They've been serving the community amazing food for so many years, and I have to stop in every time I'm in the area! I get the combo fried rice and the wontons with moon sauce! Moon sauce is spectacular!! Iykyk!!!
All food is amazing but get the SEAFOOD WONTONS. The best 5 dollars you’ll ever spend. Food and sauces are amazing and service too.
So... this is a strange review because typically, I will at least try to find a way to say something about the service. The service here primarily came from the owner and... well I'll save that for later.
The girl working at the front took nearly 10 minutes to get our order in. I don't think it's through any fault of her own, but she was being made to do too many things. She kept taking phone calls and putting those orders into the kitchen, taking Uber Eats or Doordash orders and putting them in the kitchen, answering messages on their POS system... we ordered 4 things between the two of us. Again, I do not blame her, she was being made to balance far too much.
The food came very quickly. It was mostly very good but, it was all very sweet. Their signature soup and their curry, while both had good flavor, became too much after not even finishing half of what we got. I will say, though, that the portions were massive. 2 appetizers and 1 entree would have been plenty.
Then the owner and his son. The son was coughing up a storm and not covering his mouth, which is fine I guess, until he walled into the kitchen, continuing to cough. The owner told the girl working behind the counter that he heard my wife making "adult noises" about the food. Hated that. He kept touching our backs and talking about the food, which combined with everything else to be quite uncomfortable. Then, after he heard us talking about an upcoming trip to Vietnam, started talking about how Vietnamese women aren't as subservient as Cambodian women, how 'the Vietnamese' are trying to take over Cambodia, how they're inventing fake rice made of plastic (a common racist trope used against people from various Asian countries), and how they are injecting shrimp with growth hormones just before they go to the store. Then he wandered out as mysteriously as he wandered in. Reprieve.
My wife and I sort of looked at each with a sense of relief and giggled. We kept eating our food until, lo and behold, we saw him walking back in. We asked for a box to take our food so we didn't have to listen to him again. He brought us a couple of containers and told my wife to keep "making adult noises"
I truly felt like I was in the Twilight Zone. Why would you talk like that to a customer? In front of your kid? So bizarre.
This little place has amazing food. I had chicken "shish kabobs," and even though it was not on a stick, it was the juiciest, tastiest chicken ever! It came with choice of rice and "moon sauce," which was a sweet sauce. I also got the shrimp spring rolls which were super fresh and delicious. My daughter got the vegetable and tofu soup and loved it. Staff was kind and conscientious, too. Will definitely find this place again if in Pittsburgh.
I've been coming here for years, since they started as an amazing food truck. The food is a delicious as ever! I always get the chicken and veggies on a pita and fried wontons, moon sauce on everything. It's very sticky and messy, but SO tasty!
