Best WLM Reviews
A little disappointed in the portions of this $31 breakfast for one. It was tasty indeed but feel it wasn't worth the price. Probably would not have been as disappointed if it came with toast and the steak portion was larger. But this was honestly the smallest cut I've ever had in a chicken fried steak breakfast.
I've eaten here several times living just down the road. Great location and convenient if you have time in between ferries for anyone passing through. But with the portions as they are I usually end up regretting not waiting a little longer until Coupeville or Oak Harbor to eat, or Port Townsend if I'm going the other way.
I had the Adult grilled cheese and tomato basil soup. It was amazing on a chilly day and berry cobbler for dessert. Everything tastes great and waitress was excellent. I highly recommend this place.
Awesome good, very friendly staff accommodating special request. Highly recommend their fish and chips, spicy chicken sandwich, fried shrimp and fish tacos
Let’s be honest, the place looks like a dump from the outside. It looks like they spent $200 on the exterior. However, the inside is pretty cool. I’ve read a lot of the reviews and see that they really struggle with customer service, but that was not the case. Our waitress was pretty cool. I think her name was Joy. It took a decade to get our food, but once it was out on the table, it was pretty good. It was not great, but it was pretty good. The tacos were less than mediocre, but the burgers were good. The tacos say that they come with mango salsa. I’m sorry, but mango salsa is not little square chunks of mango. The bathrooms were really clean.
Enjoyed breakfasts here several times. Went out for dinner here for the first time last night, and had an amazing time. Staff were all super friendly and attentive. I got the new york strip steak, and my oh my, it was perfectly cooked, and the marrow butter enhanced it even more. My companion got cod and chips, and she shared some with me, and it was delectable as well. I can't wait to come back to try more of the menu items.
My family and I dined at Callen's on a Saturday night, when we arrive we were greeted by the hostess with an exceptional attitude, very friendly, bubbly and positive. Right off the bat it felt good being there. It was busy which was expected and we didn't have a reservation, the hostess informed us it would be about a 15 minute wait, we waited for about 5 minutes and were seated, we then were greeted by Amy our server she was super sweet, prompt and extremely bubbly.
They had an issue going on, not sure what I didn't ask, they were absolutely slammed and clearly behind but when I tell you these ladies had their game face on it was on! Whatever happened they were absolutely handling it. Drinks were never empty, food was delicious, kids had a blast. Food was behind and they could see my kids who were 2 and 7 were getting antsy, they brought snacks for them which was super helpful.
I've been to alot of places and have never had service as top notch as this. We were beyond impressed and couldn't stop talking about it amongst ourselves.
To the owner, I want you to know that you have yourself one hell of a staff and should be extremely proud.
Thank you to Michelle the manager for all that you did for us that night and all you did for your staff, despite the massive amount of stress you were enduring.
You guys did amazing and should give yourselves a pat on the back.
We will absolutely be returning.
I have no idea how this place is only receiving a 4.4 star!? They make everything from scratch, even the biscuits for the gravy are homemade! The coffee is good, the staff are great, and the atmosphere is fantastic. I really wnjoyed this, it's the end of a week long camping trip, what a great way to finish the trip. The view is amazing!
This place is such a hidden and unexpected gem!!! The food was top-notch made in-house from scratch and the servers made us feel like we felt like regulars even though it was our first visit (Thank you Amy!) The clam chowder is EXACTLY the way a PNW chowder should taste. Also was so surprised by their drink menu-can you say “Cucumber-Basil infused Rainer Gin & Tonic!?!?! And dessert!!!! What!?!? A LEMONGRASS VANILLA Crème Brûlée !?! I felt like I was at a four-star in San Francisco! What a delight!!!!!!
