First time trying Jimmy's. We lucked out and managed to instantly get seated at the bar when we arrived. We tried the snow crab, gator bites, oysters, gumbo, and a crab cake. The seafood was incredibly fresh with great flavor. The crab was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. Everything was seasoned well. The crab cake had lots of meat which was very nice. The gator bites were okay, we never had it before, but I personally wouldn't order those again as the flavor was odd. Beware, on another night when we dropped by there was a 28 person wait ahead of us, so if its busy you will have a very long wait.
We came at Lunch/Dinner time before it became slammed. Price for value I wasn’t extremely impressed but overall a good experience.
I ordered the Bloody Mary special which had a great flavor and some good garnishes. I had ordered it spicy but it came out pretty mild… which was still tasty but not spicy as requested.
The fried green tomatoes were very thin cut which I wished were about 3 times the thickness as it was very heavy in comparison of tomato to breading ratio. But again the taste was good, not overly salted.
The crab cake was phenomenal. Light breading with a fresh and flavorful taste. Highly recommend those!!!!
I've heard about Cajun food but never tasted it before, it blew my mind. Its so full of flavor, you can savor you meal hours later. The service was really good, considering we were a large party so it could get tricky, but it never did.
Everything that I tasted was amazing, however, the smoked amberjack dip and jambalaya get a special shoutout. Amazing. No words are sufficient.
If they added a starters platter, it would be great because there was so much I wanted to try.
Great, popular seafood restaurant located in a strip mall. Parking is no problem. Usually a wait but tables turn quickly and hostesses are attentive, sometimes coming around with free snacks and they will take your drink order while you wait for a table. On the night we were there, they had fresh crayfish and pink shrimp on the specials menu, we ordered both and we were glad we did.
We had a great lunch at Cajun Jimmy’s after kayaking (our guide recommended that we go). The restaurant is clean & decorated as if you’re in NOLA. The menu is extensive including daily specials. My soft shell crab & jambalaya was delicious. I added on the fried oysters - there 6 & they were perfectly fried. Our vegetarian diner had a Caesar salad and grilled cheese both of which were very tasty. Our servers was pleasant & everything came out quickly & correctly. The highlight was a table side visit from Cajun Jimmy himself. He did magic tricks & kept us entertained. If you have the chance, I recommend this spot.
Nice experience. Food was truly delicious. I highly recommend the Yankee Chowder if you're a chowder fan. Big flavor, nice consistency, and fair portion for the bowl price. I also had the half pound of steamed shrimp. Came with eleven shrimp which seemed right for the size of them. It appeared to be more than half a pound but if never complain about that. Came with bread that was nice to dip in the Seller's sauce. The sauce is kind of salty by itself but goes well with the shrimp and bread. It was a little pricey for bread and shrimp for me but I understand the constraints on prices and I knew what I was getting in to when I ordered. My only complaint was the waitress. Kind of light on the service side. Water was empty most of my meal and I had some spice which I needed cooling. It was the busy lunch period but still... I need my water.
Came back a second day in a row because it was so good! Jimmy and his team create a wonderful atmosphere with excellent food that is completely addictive. Seafood joint with authentic New Orleans flair, only giving 5 stars because 10 stars isn't an option!!!
A busy place. Our wait went quickly about 1/2 hour 10 people ahead of us. I had jambalaya with gator sausage & chicken. Wife had the seafood soup. We had the crab dip. All very good. Service was spot on.
