Really enjoy this find. Food is South American in origin. Nice, clean, intimate setting with a country feel on the inside. First time having Arepas, and it was delicious. I chose the shredded chicken. One is enough with the side salad that it is paired with.
Cafe Tomas in Kenner, LA, is a delightful spot that offers a refreshing take on dining with its focus on healthier alternatives without compromising on taste. The staff at Cafe Tomas deserves a special mention for their kindness and patience. They bring a personal touch to the service, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and valued. While the staff is predominantly Spanish-speaking, their commitment to providing excellent service bridges any language barriers. They are incredibly patient, so even if you don't speak Spanish, rest assured that they will go out of their way to understand and fulfill your needs.
As for the food, the omelet and waffle are good choices. The omelet is packed with fresh, flavorful ingredients, reflecting the cafe's dedication to quality and health. The waffle, on the other hand, strikes the perfect balance between being indulgent and wholesome, making it a guilt-free treat to enjoy any time of the day. And not to mention affordable pricing!
In conclusion, Cafe Tomas is more than just a dining spot; it's an experience that charms you with its ambiance, warms you with its staff, and delights you with its conscientious yet delicious offerings. Whether you're a local or just passing through Kenner, LA, this cafe is a gem worth visiting.
I’ve got one problem with the food in this joint. I haven’t had it before today. And that’s my fault for not researching it earlier.
Everything was flawless. Tostones, flautas, and the beef arepas were better than any I’ve had.
Most impressive.
Amazing Sunday brunch.
We had hot lemon tree with lemon grass grown at the owners garden.
This was my first time eating Colombian food. I will be back everytime I am on this side of the lake
Delicious food, friendly service with a great ambiance.
Stopped for a to go order for myself and a coworker (who's never had Latin food),and ordered a cortadito while I waited for the food to be made fresh. Exactly what I needed and it was delicious!
Food was fresh and flavorful. Absolutely delicious and the house made green sauce took the meal to a next level. My coworker couldn't stop talking about the food either.
Nela took my order and she's friendly and kind. Recommending this place to everyone.
OMG!! Can we say fresh?? Decided to try something different from our usual when I come home on the weekends. Found this cute, cozy spot and decided to try it. I was so impressed with the atmosphere and setting. It was so comfortable. As we waited, not very long, for our appetizer, which were the fried plantains...OMG!!, I watch the hostess cut up fresh fruit and vegetables. My friend ordered the burrito Mexican, and I ordered JaBaritos. I was so amazed by how fresh the vegetables were. I am not too fond of cilantro, but the way they made their sauce changed my mind. It was perfectly blended and not too overpowering. I had a wonderful experience. I ended the date with fresh pineapple juice. It was very refreshing. I didn't feel heavy or overly full. It was an awesome experience. Keep doing what y'all are doing and you'll have a loyal customer.
We loved the food and the place, and I especially enjoyed the music (the best of rock in spanish). The portions are good, and the prices can be a bit more than the usual Latino restaurant, BUT food is delicious. Service was amazing.
My husband saw they Cuban espresso on their menu, and we had to drive 10 minutes out of the way, bypassing all other coffee shops to Cafétomas… and all I can say it was worth the drive! I had a white mocha. He had their Cuban espresso, and they shared with us their dusted powder sugar Cuban cookies! Everything was fabulous. And, the gentleman (manager/owner?) was so kind.
