What a blessing that we found this place on Google maps! We were greeted by the cheerful and energetic lady owner who listened and gave some of her recommendations. We went with them and did not regret it. As you see, we got quite the spread as starters, namely: mushroom and spinach puff pies, hummus with beef(yerushalmi), kibbeh and falafel. The food vanished quickly! The main course was just as delicious. Even for a picky teen who doesn’t like to venture out with ethnic food - the shawarma turned out to be his absolute favorite! The pita bread was amazing too! Highly recommend stopping by there while in town. Nothing beats a lovely homestyle meal made with love and pride by the owner herself!
Imagine your Jewish grandmother cooked you a kosher meal for your body, mind and soul. It’s as if I’m back in Jerusalem.
My husband's stomach is very sensitive if the quality and cleanliness of the food is sub par, and he said his stomach is extremely happy right now.
Honestly, if you don’t care for Jewish food just go meet the owner, she’s super sweet :)
Special place in Tally. All the food is homemade and delicious! Go support this place, they deserve the love.
This restaurant is incredible! Delicious authentic food and amazing service. I've visited the last two weeks and plan on making it a weekly stop for lunch. Highly recommend.
This was the first time I've had proper Israeli food and it was tremendous. I loved the bread, the rice was insanely flavorful and of course, the turkey shawarma was the star of the show.
There was a lady there that appeared to be taking orders, serving the restaurant and making food all on her own. She did so with a kind heart and a positive attitude. I would definitely recommend this place.
I cherish the lunch I ate here today. Maggie is wonderful, her food is delicious and fresh, and I felt like I was being taken care of by my mom. Go enjoy the warm embrace this food will wrap you in. Especially if you're a college kid feeling homesick - go here!!
I live at a walking distance from the restaurant. The restaurant is located in a pretty much nondescript building and apart from that towering restaurant signpost, you don't really notice much walking past the restaurant. There is a women's salon and a car interior shop next to the restaurant and that's about it. But don't be too quick in making any judgements about it because the foods here will speak for themselves.
I had eaten at many Syrian restaurants and always loved the lamb shanks and yellow rice and other dishes but this was the first time I was eating at a proper Israeli restaurant. The interiors are nothing fancy. Some pictures about the middle east on the walls, rustic looking tables and chairs. You get that old vibe. There are pictures of menu items behind the counter that would make it easier for ordering. We ordered a Matzo Ball soup, a Shakshuka, a Chicken Shawarma and Bourekas. . It didn't take long before the Matzo balls were on our table. They came in a paper bowl.
The Matzo balls are basically soup dumplings. I couldn't figure out all the composition but they were some kind of whole grain flour made into balls served with soup that tasted of turmeric and some other ingredients. They were really refreshing. They reminded me of lentil dumplings we have back in Nepal. Then came the Shakshuka. It was served in the pan in which it was made and boy it looked amazing, with the red vibrant tomato sauce and the eggs in the middle. It tasted amazing, too. I had tried making Shakshuka at home but this one was the king. It tasted this amazing. The tomato sauce probably came from a can but that didn't take anything away from the taste. The eggs and the sauce on the fresh baked fluffy pita bread just took me to heaven and back. A must have!!! Then came the Chicken Shawarma. It came with yellow rice and fried eggplants. The chicken was grilled really well and tasted of various spices. The fried eggplant was delicious. The Bourekas were great, too, crunchy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. The spinach and mushrooms tasted amazing inside the bourekas.
This is a great place to try some middle eastern taste and get up close with Israeli foods. The owner was really friendly and I had a little conversation with her. This is a gem in Tallahassee and would absolutely love to go back and try other items on the menu. It has that lovely homey feel. Can't recommend this place enough!!!!
Both the food and manager are amazing. We ordered from them for our FSU association's event, and they not only provided us with the food we needed but also offered many free items as a reward for the numerous orders we had placed with them, to match our budget.
