On the one hand, everyone was super friendly, the food was decent. On the other, they charged fees without telling us: $4.00 credit card, meals were more than advertised. If they were more upfront about it, wouldn't have felt so sketchy.
On April 29, 2023 my best friend (Mexican) and myself (Cuban) were returning from a short vacation down in the Florida Keys. During our brief stop in Miami we stumbled along this gem.
We entered the establishment and we're immediately greeted as if we were family. It felt as if we were in the presence of our tia, tio, and abuelito (FAMILIA). Our food was simple, yet prepared with appreciation, gratitude, and love.
Whenever we are in the area, this will be our go to (our second home).

The place used to be excellent until about 3 months ago. The owner's wife caught him in bed with another woman and she left the place. She was the cook, the soul of the place. Now it's become all run down and dirty, crawling with roaches and rats in the attic storeroom. Avoid at all costs.
I never give reviews but honestly after trying out their food and their great customer service I just had to. Me and my wife love this place, she doesn’t even cook anymore lol, but you know what they say... “happy wife, happy life”
You may not want to go there if you're not Cuban or local? I'm a 50 something white guy tourist, and was essentially asked to leave by the lady running the place. She acted really unfriendly towards me when I walked in, and then when I asked if I should go she said "yes go". I'm not complaining. I get it. There were three older local guys at the 6-7 stool counter, presumably cuban, and me being there would have been in the middle and totally changed the vibe.
What an amazing establishment! The food is delicious! The service is 5 star! They make you feel like family.... It’s definitely one of my favorite eats.
Had a great experience. The new cook was great and friendly. I ordered my weekly cantina with her andbCan't wait to go again.
Food is absolutely delicious, they have lunch specials, the employees are super nice and attentive... definitely recommend this place to everyone!
