I am a first-timer. I was really impressed. The food was good. I just had a basic pork chop meal and a couple of beers, LOL the waitress was very nice, very professional. We went there for a birthday party with a party of 6. We all had a great time. Everybody enjoyed the food. I recommend it
Stop thru here and place my order for their Steak Jibarito Sandwich with rice. As I'm waiting for my order, I'm checking out this decor inside which was done really well. They have ample seating plus a small bar as well. Ok onto the food though I started with the rice which was kinda dry and wasn't much flavor either seemed like it was reheated or was not made to order 7.1. The steak jibarito was cool thou I did like this sandwich 8.4. It was a well-balanced sandwich and I've had better, but it wasn't bad at all. Washed it down with a Kola Champagne pop that hit the spot. Overall if in the area I'll circle back 7.8.
Authentic food for a great value. I LOVED the jibarito con lechon. The empanada and the acapuria were okay, the star of the show was def the rice. I had to take some home for later ????
This is the only P.R food restaurant near my home, and I'm so thankful they exist. Otherwise, I'd be forced to drive to the Northside. I had the lechon dinner, and my daughter had the jibarito steak sandwich. We shared an alcapurria. They give a good amount of food as you can see in my photos. The food is always seasoned well. The atmosphere is fun, music playing in the background and the service is great! We love this place!
As a native Puerto Rican I was excited to go here. It wasnt super happy w my visit. Upon getting there parking was challenging and it was not a busy time of the day. Then we get there and there are tons of signs on the door of “we don’t do this or that, etc.” which I found to be tacky. 1 sign I get, but so many. Not a good first impression. Then service was not the best. The waiter although nice didn’t know much about the menu. We had to constantly ask for things multiple times to finally get them (salt, napkins, silverware, etc). I asked the waiter if he certain things had pork bc I dont eat pork or raw onions (allergic)and was told no and both pork and raw onions were on one of my dish. I ordered a sampler and it didnt have all the items described on the menu. Ordered a few other appetizers, he completely forgot to bring them to us. Then the main dish I ordered was chicken pinchos which are always made w chicken breast, well these were made with drum sticks which I was disappointed bc it should of said that on the menu. My friend had shrimp and the Shrimp had an odd taste like if they were old Shrimp and they were rubbery. Was the food flavorful? Yes. Was service good? Nope. There was a collection of too many little issues that just made my visit unpleasant. These dishes felt like a non-Puerto Rican that has no clue of what authentic PR food is like, trying to sell PR food. Waiter was polite and decor was nice but Would I return here? Absolutely not.
Found this gem (in our Southside community) back in February and I’m happy that I no longer have to drive up north west side to get my Puerto Rican cuisine fix. Oh and their pastry guava con queso is made to perfection. Brought me to tears the nostalgia of flavor and food done right. Not to please the quantity but to secure the quality cooked food with love and flavor on point. If you are in a hurry order your take out but if you have the time sit, mingle and enjoy the food with family or with friends. This is the spot. Enjoy!
Visiting from out of town for work within the first week of being here I found café Rosa everything was exceptional. The food was delicious. The flavor was amazing. The staff was so friendly every time we went in. Actually went there four times. Definitely recommend !!!
It was my first time here with my fiancé, and we thought the food was delicious and the service was good.
We ordered tostones and empanadas for appetizers and they were a great start to our meal. They were crispy, fresh and NOT stale ( like some places). We also ordered a lechon dinner and a pork jibarito. The food was seasoned perfectly, arrived hot,and tasted like it was prepared with love in the kitchen. The portions were perfect too. Sometimes it's hit or miss with new places I try, but I was pleasantly surprised with Cafe Rosa. I'm always looking for good Puerto Rican food.
