We came here as they were just opening, and it was absolutely the best experience. The food was wonderful. We love eating out. And we love cafe Rio. Some better than others. This one takes the cake. The food was on point! They handled our special orders with patience, and the Tres Leches cake was so delicious. Next time we're in this area, we'll definitely come to this Cafe Rio again.
This is my 3rd time at this location and each time I have been disappointed. I keep thinking the last time was just a fluke but I don’t think that’s the case. This is my salad right after mixing the dressing before I have even taken a bite. It looks like it’s half way gone already. Hardly any meat or lettuce. The tortillas have been stale each time and they have forgotten something on our order 2 of the 3 times. I have always loved cafe rio but I will be taking my business to costa vida from now on!
I already knew going in that I wasn't a fan but I was once again reminded that it's never a good idea to go here. It's typically a mess and grosses me out. The worker had to get under the cupboards for new guacamole, new soup, and new pico, then continued to make my food after touching all the cupboards. She seemed annoyed that she had to stop watching her show on her phone and leave her food, so that she could put our order together. She was even more annoyed that I needed a spoon for my soup. That's definitely my last stop at Cafe Rio. Is this normal presentation for a quesadilla? It may have been the location but I've never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant.
This is the absolute worst cafe Rio I have ever been to. I get the exact same thing every time I go there and they always seem to screw it it up. There's no way to charge online for extra lines, so I ask for them, in store, never happens, get ONE lime, one it always comes with 3. I'm happy to pay for it, it just never happens. Today asks for more dressing, happy to pay for it, they can't even give me the right one. Always white tortilla even when I ask for wheat. This is literally the worst location ever. Fire all of them and get a new crew. Because when I went in no one even cared, I stood there for 15 minutes AFTER the quoted time before anyone said anything to me. I'm never going back here. I legit hope you close down. Calling cooperate as we speak
I’ve been here several times, and the best customer service experience I’ve ever had is on par with your average visit to the Post Office. I’ve talked to IRS employees who are happier to help me than they are. The next time I’m thinking of coming here, I’m just going to turn around and go to the DMV, because I’ll leave there in a better mood than I leave Cafe Rio.
I placed a to go order on the app and then has to wait 20 min after the time it was supposed to be ready for it to be made. When I got home I realized the salads were missing 1/2 of the ingredients I put I wanted on them! Will definitely not be coming back to this location again!
The Pleasant Grove Cafe Rio has the worst service of any I have been to. I have ordered on the app. Come to pick up my food at the time stated. And still waited 30 to 40 minutes multiple times. When the screen says my food is done. People Ordering their food in line got theirs way faster. The food flavor has gone way downhill From the good old Cafe Rio days. There Never enough tables to sit and eat. All around a disappointing experience every time. Keep telling myself I won't go back. But then I have Cafe Rio nostalgia.
Changed to 3 stars now. Managment read and understood our concerns. We re visited this location after and noticed an improvement, most drinks were full, plenty of forks this time. Only thing I can recommend is to DE SHELL the shrimp. We came into try the coconut shrimp tacos and they were out of coconut. So, we tried the Baja shrimp tacos and found them to be disappointing. Nothing thrilling about the tacos for the price. We had to de-shell about every single shrimp in the tacos.
Customer service is lacking, we pay for sour cream and guacamole and they don’t bother telling us when they’re out of either but charge us for it because we asked for it. All of the tables are always dirty. At the drink bar you will find at least 2 out of the 4 house drinks always empty. Not to mention they’re always low on forks. This seems to be consistent over the past few times we’ve been here and we usually have to clean our own table before we can even sit.
On another note- what is with all the liquid from the black or pinto beans? It makes the salads and burritos beyond soggy after just a few moments. It’s beyond excessive.
