Best WLM Reviews
I visited alone & love checking out new places, especially locally owned venues. Charming, friendly atmosphere, great food & top notch service. So many thoughtful touches, including a jar of flossers in the restroom! Every member of the staff, including the chef, took time to check in with me and made we feel welcomed.
I had a cappuccino, cream of asparagus soup, sweet potato with walnuts, flatbread veggie pizza (which the chef informed me included foraged MOREL MUSHROOMS that someone had gifted them earlier that day!), & brought home a lemon blueberry scone that I enjoyed the next day.
As an added treat, my visit was on a Saturday during a very engaging live music performance. Wonderful setting for individuals, couples and families.
There's also a handful of outdoor tables with umbrellas on a very cute entryway patio.
Cute small town restaurant with delicious homemade food! The portions are just right and it’s a cozy environment that makes you feel right at home. The prices are very reasonable. Dewy and Jada are super sweet and accommodating. I highly recommend trying the quiche. Can’t wait to go back!
Update: Lots of flatbreads. Ribs and drumsticks are smoked to perfection. Pies are still great. Add brisket. On flatbread or mac&cheese it is awesome. Caprese salid was crisp and fresh, good balsamic. The chocolate cream pie is a thick mousse, amazing.
Great food, beer, and atmosphere.
The new owners were friendly and engaging.
Nice to see local businesses supporting each other.
The chicken pot pie and brisket flatbread special were phenomenal.
Will be a regular spot for us now.
This is a wonderful place. It has such a comforting ambiance to it. Everyone is so welcoming. The quiche special is usually something interesting. My personal favorite is their Thursday Open Mic night.
Adorable and cozy restaurant setting. However, we were a bit disappointed when we sat down and the waitress told us that there was no quiche, and that they only had one kind of beer. We thought that was odd but we ordered our dinner. The staff is very friendly but sadly, the only thing that wasn’t good was the food. My husband ordered the chicken pie and it came in an aluminum pan, so it really did look like something you would buy frozen from the grocery store, and my flatbread was burnt to a crisp – we’d like to give it another try though because they seemed so friendly! I would add a picture, but it doesn’t seem that I can do that on this site.
We had a lovely, quiet lunch here. Our server, Brianna, was great. Absolutely incredible parfaits! I had 2! Great French press coffee. My sister had the quiche and said it was the best of her life. She also ordered a cherry coke, which they serve with cherries in it. Nice touch. My aunt had gluten-free waffles and chamomile tea. She said the waffles were delicious, and the tea was good. Nice clean bathrooms. They even provide flossers, hair ties, diapers, and organic tampons! I loved their cute sign on the bathroom door. We had a good laugh about it. Street parking was simple enough. They also have a parking lot, but I didn't see it at first, so I missed the turn.
Cafe on the Common is always a pleasure. Clean place, friendly staff and owners, delicious food and drink- and all conveniently in Barre center. If you like music check out their open mic or live performances as noted online. Highly recommend.
Just tried their Shepherds Pie, Cherry Pie, Cheeseburger Pie, and Quiche over the last week or so end can’t say enough that I’m so thrilled by this place. They have new foods on the way that I’m excited to try and their mixed drinks are generous! The atmosphere (and AC) makes this place my favorite to go to from now on.
