The owner is the most amazing host and very funny. We'd spent two months travelling and this pub was my absolute favourite! The decor, the vibe and the people!! I will be back as soon as possible. Everyone so friendly and talkative. Absolute must visit if in Ypres. See you soon Christopher xoxox
My mate and I stepped in while wives did church opposite. What a surprise! Expected a cafe found an atmospheric bar with friendly barman and customers. Full of numerous items from football team scarves to 1st world war ephemera, and some excellent lager.
Unruly and aggressive service. We sat on the terrace and as soon as someone's glass was empty, it was taken from the table. The last person whose glass was empty was then asked if another order was needed. We said no. Then we were aggressively told by the cafe owner that we had to hurry so that the table would become available for someone else.
Luckily we didn't eat there.
Great beer on a hot day, very friendly staff. You must go inside to see the mix of WW1 and football memorabilia. Great bar
You must visit this bar which has two lower floors dedicated to WW1. It's actually amazing. The whole inside is an experience. I stumbled on this bar whilst the wife was in Carrefour two doors away... Great atmosphere good service and selection of Belgium beers. Enjoy your experience

& What a find. A Pub/Café Call it what you want. BUT Its Got & Basement Museum Too that is Something Else..
So It was a MUST When i came back with my wife for our 10th wedding anniversay Dec 7th.
Become friends with Christopher who runs the place, great fella. This place is a Must Visit Place If Coming To Ypres.

Great place for a coffee and a snack very friendly place a lot cheaper than the main square.
