I typically LOVE this café, but was disappointed today.
I ate lunch with a group of ladies from my church and enjoyed my special. The soup is ALWAYS amazing. The bread was a little over toasted on my 1/2 sandwich, but still good.
I ordered the Big Beef and Swiss to go for my hubby. When I got home my hubby opened it, and there were only two thin slices of roast beef inside that big kaiser roll - lost under the lettuce and tomato. Not at all what we expected.
If the sandwich doesn't live up to the name and description, it shouldn't be a menu option, or remove the "Big".☹️
Great customer service and tasty food. Had this plate at a catered work event and everything was delicious. Pictured is the prime rib, green beans, roll and bacon and cheese potatoes. The prime rib was so tender! Would eat here again.
Went to lunch with my friend. Food was good & quick. When I got home I noticed they charged my card over $270 so I called. They were closed until Monday but when I called Monday they were horrified they made the mistake and made it right IMMEDIATELY...apologized and were sincerely sorry. I would go back in a heartbeat....honest & nice people and the food was good!
Great place for lunch! My favorite are the hot dogs! Very friendly and polite staff! Nice atmosphere! Lots of collectibles that are sure to catch your eye. Highly recommend
Service is always fast and friendly. Food is always fresh and made to order with lots to choose from daily specials to specialty dishes. I love this place
Our first time visiting and they were very kind. It has a vintage feel, the food was good and the service was good too. We will be back!
I ordered the "chunky chicken salad" on a crossiant today. Good sandwiches, salads, soup, & hotdogs at Cafe 99.
My wife and I stopped as we were traveling through the town. I ordered the hotdogs and chips which were basic, but tasty. My wife, however, ordered the chicken salad. The chicken was either cooked and reheated too long or it wasn't cooked properly. It was very rubbery and chewy. The salad was very poor nonetheless. We probably would never eat here again. We hope the town has another hometown hangout with better attention to food quality and the details. Perhaps the cook should eat his own food before serving tomorrow.
