Best WLM Reviews
Talked with the owner, Born in France, makes all food by hand and from scratch. Said finding high end bakers in US is hard, so he puts in immigration paperwork to bring in the best French chefs/bakers to work here. Amazing story of American success, moving here and building a business. All food was amazing, desserts, to bread to mushroom/bacon quiche! Staff was super friendly and location in a clean and nice spot in Sarasota. Lots of expensive cars driving around. If in Sarasota, you must stop by and support this business and get some excellent food! Best food we ate all weekend in Sarasota!
Quaint restaurant with big flavor. I ate here with my family and we had the following (I'm probably forgetting something because we had a big meal):
-Almond croissants
-Eggs and toast
-Ham and mushroom quiche
-Normande crepe
-Cream beignet
-Salmon baguette
-Chocolate croissant
I highly recommend everything on this list, especially the Normande crepe and croissants/beignets. Based on the high quality and diversity of the food we ordered, you'll probably be happy with anything you order. It was excellent!
C'est La Vie is a fantastic French bakery. Everything looks amazing and so far, everything we've had has been. In truth, the chocolate croissant is so good I find it hard to try anything else. If you're nearby, stop and give it a try. We drive a little over an hour to get there (not too often) and it's definitely worth it. I wish we could find something comparable closer to home, but we've failed to find anything this good.
Strawberry tart with almond cream is the best I have had.
Dishes are unique and delicious.
Cappuccino is decidedly not great, but pick up a cup
elsewhere and don’t miss this place
Fantastic outdoor seating on Main Street. We had breakfast which was truly authentic French cuisine. Highly recommend C’est La Vie to start your day.
I loved this place. I went on a Sunday and was crowded, for a reason???? food is so delicious and the staff are very friendly. I had a salmon crepe and my daughter had a chicken/mushrooms crepe. Both were amazing.
Had a very average breakfast despite fantastic service and the friendliest owners. The croissant was nothing compared to a proper European one - was served cold with frozen butter. I had the platter with eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes. Bacon was crispy, everything else normal. Potatoes very dry. The seating was uncomfortable, I was tucked into a corner seat alone and had to ask a whole family to get up so I could leave.
Absolutely lovely authentic French bakery/café/ restaurant with great downtown Sarasota views that offers both indoor and outdoor (recommended) seating. Came in to order takeout with a 10% discount coupon mailed to my mother who moved nearby recently. Seems family owned, friendly staff, and a wide selection on their menu! Known best for its extensive bakery options and breakfast and lunch, but also serves dinner.
Excellent quiches and super rich soups. I plan to visit again for a leisurely sit for brunch outside with a savory crepe or panini. Beverage options are also very impressive!
A little pricey, but expected for the area. The Croissant Sandwiches seem the best deal with sides included. Inexpensive metered parking available.
