This place was a pleasant surprise actually! First of all we didn’t expect it to be this crowded (granted it was a Friday night) given their location. But we reserved by calling and managed to get a table pretty quickly. We ordered the spicy shrimp roll, spider roll, fire dragon maki, samurai, the rock and a couple of others which I don’t remember. They were pretty good overall, the spicy shrimp and spider were really good! Although we did not like the fact that they took an hour to bring out our first order.. And the other rolls were alright, but maybe things taste better when you’re super hungry? Either way, it was good and satisfied our sushi cravings.
My experience at Butterfly was fantastic! Everything we ordered was vegetarian, and it was all incredibly flavorful. The service was phenomenal, and I highly recommend making a reservation, as it can get very busy on weekdays and weekends. We tried the Drunken Noodles, Penang Curry, Fire Dragon Roll Sushi, and Edamame, and everything was delicious with no complaints. It was my first time trying Thai food, and both the Drunken Noodles and the Penang Curry were phenomenal—I would definitely go back for them.
We came for lunch and tried out the restaurant week menu. The pineapple fried rice and egg rolls were so good. Service was great as well. I didn’t like the lychee ice cream but my friend did!
Tl;dr: food is above average and comes out fast, the service is quick! Depending on the time, parking can be challenging.
You’re quickly greeted and sit down shortly after. The staff is quick and attentive which makes for excellent service! The food is above average but not the best sushi (not even in Chicago). The restaurant decor and feel is also above average but there are nicer places for this price. Over all, there are other sushi restaurants that would be first choice contenders and recommend this only to try after those have been exhausted.
I went here for the first time today. The employees are very attentive to management. Smile and talk in a friendly manner. Came in to say hello and invited to sit at the table. Food served at speed It has beautiful decorations. The restaurant‘s best-selling sushi was introduced. I had 911 and it was amazing. And it was the first time I tried spicy crazy noodle. Adding a little spiciness, it was great.
I don’t ever leave reviews but this place was fantastic. There was no wait but service did take a little while but it was absolutely worth the wait. The panang with tofu was delicious, the crab rangoons were some of the best i’ve ever had (and i’ve had my fair share) and the sushi was melt in your mouth heaven. The drinks were also amazing! The mango and lime soda was refreshing and the thai iced coffee was smooth and sweet. The outside is misleading but the interior design was gorgeous and the plates and cups were all very unique (plus paper straws). Me and my friend both agreed that the number one word to describe this place would be “creamy”. The color schemes and decor, the delicious food, the beautiful drinks. We also both agreed that it would make an amazing first date spot. 100% would recommend!! A little expensive but absolutely worth the money.

While the staff is Warm and welcoming, the food comes out quick . They have plenty of vegetarian options. Their sushi options were fresh and awesome. Thai food was delicious, we had their egg rolls, drunken noodles and panang curry.
4 star for the dirty bathrooms. Besides that pertaining to just the overall taste , pretty good option for a casual week night meal!
