Best WLM Reviews
This place isn't bad, but if you never go here you're not missing much.
Out of all the stuff I had, the hash browns was the most unique item. It wasn't super amazing, but it was pretty good. I have eaten at a decent amount of breakfast places and have never had hash browns like these. They almost have a mashed potato quality to them; mushy and chunky on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I would recommend trying them and making your own decision on them, but I think the concept works.
The pancakes are pretty standard but taste good. Mine came out fluffy with a slightly burnt texture to it, which I prefer. I did, however, prefer the French toast at this restaurant to the pancakes. It was just a little bit fluffier and sweeter. The toast was thick cut so it was slightly crispier on the outside and soft on the inside.
The biscuits and gravy are very basic here. I wouldn't recommend them at all. It wasn't terrible, but it just didn't stand out in any way. In my opinion, you are wasting your money if you buy the ones here. Good gravy will have chunks of meat and seasonings in it, and this one was generic, plain gravy. More than likely from can to the warmer.
The polish sausage was good but again pretty generic. They did cut the link in thirds and put the inside part on a flat top so it came out seared a decent amount, though.
The cinnamon roll was really sweet. It looks really good in the picture I took, but in reality it wasn't that special. It was a little tough and I had to muscle my way around with a fork to break it apart. It wasn't too bad, but I wouldn't get it again.
The food is great and the staff is amazing! A diner atmosphere, quick service, and cheap. I would have to say the bad reviews are either people that would never be satisfied by anything or the competition. Hands down the go-to spot, and my kids love it too. If you haven't tried this little spot you're missing out. If a down-home quick inexpensive spot isn't for you, then go to a chain location and lose out on the down-home style of a great diner. Big shout out to Rudy and Brandi who always have a smile and excellent cooking and service. 5+????
I ordered chicken fried steak with brown gravy. Instead, they gave me the fried pork. I'm glad they didn't do that with a person whose religious beliefs forbids pork. Food tasted ok, but pork instead of beef is a big deal. The waitress didn't seem to care when I mentioned it.
GREAT breakfast! Everything we had was delicious. We really liked the green chili smothered breakfast burritos, chili rellenos, and the cinnamon rolls! Love the cinnamon rolls so much we took 3 more home for later. Run, don’t walk, to breakfast at the Butcher Block Cafe!!
A local hang out. A ruff version of a roadside cafe. All old stuff but good fast and a good value.
The breakfast burrito was great, had great taste. The green chile was the diced chile's from a can and too much cornstarch to thicken. The pancakes were mostly good but fell apart while cutting. Overall the food was good but we will try another diner while in town for tomorrow's breakfast. Worthy mention, the service was great ????
The food was great. I got the chicken fried steak .
I only ordered to go though so I can’t say too much about the atmosphere. Typical diner atmosphere by the looks of it. The staff was very friendly though :)
They have good food,I remember my mom bringing me here when I was a kid so I wanted to try it again and yes it was still good.. I love their crunchy potatoes..
