First and foremost, before going to Buddy's make sure you have some extra holes in your belt so you can loosen your pants when finished. This was our first time coming here but, will definitely not be the last. The inside reminds me of places I went to in my childhood. Big stone fireplace and open wood beams remind you of being in a log cabin. The wait staff was very pleasant and attentive. We got the Big "B" burger with fresh cut fries with gravy and hot roast beef sandwich with French fries and gravy. The burger was two patties, lettuce, tomato, pickles and their secret sauce. It was fantastic! The burgers were done perfectly and the fresh cut fries were great and the gravy was amazing! It was definitely homemade and was not just "plopped" out of a ten pound can into a pot. The gravy like everything was homemade. Somehow, someway we found room for dessert. Had homemade chocolate cake with peanut butter icing and a dish of vanilla ice cream. Wow is all I can say! I am hooked on this place from the decor to the food and everything in between. The portions were enormous but, the prices were not. You will not be disappointed going to Buddy's Log Cabin Restaurant!
When we first arrived they 'cleaned' a table off for us. After getting situation my foot had touched something under the table & that's when I looked under the table and saw all the trash & random utensil etc. The wait was 49 mins (this comes in handy later on) for our food. As other reviews mention, the gravy is like a jelly disaster & I think that's because the food was barely Luke warm. If you're a cook or even at just a home cook for your family, you know gravy gets jelly like when cold. My husband and I's hot roast beef & turkey sandwiches came luke warm. The wait was 49 mins so I have no clue why we all got room temp food unless it was done and sat the entire 49 mins. Then they forgot my waffle with strawberries so that was another wait again while they made it. Upon bringing it to the table it came with burnt marks on the outside that any home cook knows comes from a dirty waffle iron. As well as CHUNKS of burnt black god knows what, under my waffle (see pics) thy must have so kindly included the brunt scraps from cleaning the griddle off on my plate ???? . I also ordered the filling to, which came out and ended up being potato mash filling they said. It was mashed potatoes with a few chunks of mushy bread inside. My son got their version of the big Mac which he loved & my other son got Luke warm wings that were decent size- that's the only reason for the 2 stars. I don't know what cook is there when some of these people are eating to leave 5 stars but we must have came when the other chef was there along with the other people leaving the 1 star reviews. Keep driving... We paid 100 dollars with tip (yes we still tipped) when Arby's would have been better than this for less money.
I tried the place based on reviews and photos. I thought the food was great. I ordered eggs over medium, bacon, home fries with onion and homemade toast. Everything was cooked to my specifications, very tasty. My waitress was busy but let her grumpy attitude shine through. There were other wait staff being friendly and smiling while working. The atmosphere was busy, but I liked the look and feel of the place. Sorry, left my phone in the truck, so no photos.
I had the chicken pot pie and at the bottom of the bowl, the food was cold and there was a bone, but the food over all was good, the small restaurant was warm and cozy with plenty of dead animals hanging all over the walls, along with potato chip cans from the yesterday years
Really enjoyed our meals at Buddy's log Cabin. Ordered the Broasted Chicken (definitely a great choice) which was served hot and crispy with french fries and a side salad. The side salad was delicious with a variety of fresh greens and Newman's salad dressing. The French fries were thin, hot and crispy. My wife enjoyed the Mock Lobster with stewed tomatoes and macaroni and cheese was delicious. Served with a thick slice of homemade bread. Highly recommend stopping by. The food was really delicious.
Lots of parking. Wasn't busy for the time of day. Friendly staff. Very a unique restaurant. Kinda dark inside the restaurant. My dad had trouble walking due to not having enough lights. He is almost 100% blind.
I ordered Steve's specialty burger was extremely tuff to eat but the homemade bread was delicious. No refills were offered on drinks. Kids' meal cheeseburger and fries had plenty of food.
We ordered the hamburger steak.... I stop here after working a 12 hour shift from time to time.. I'm thinking burger King, unfortunately, might be a better option .. the gravy on the hamburger steak was cold. . The mashed potatoes and gravy were ice cold... the kid's got a burnt grilled cheese ... their fries were decent.. hot n fresh.. for the amount of money I spend here.. it's just not worth it.. I was hoping it would change, I do love supporting local businesses... it's just every time we go here, we get cold food.. or awful vinegar loaded ham n beans soup, MINUS the ham, it didn't exist in the awful bowl we got.. oh well.. at least their ice cream is good.. no complaints there...
Excellent food in this small town family restaurant. I had the best turkey club ever. The meat is fresh real turkey breast and everything was fresh. My son had an excellent burger. Service was great and the have awesome ice cream for desert.
