Best WLM Reviews
Came in for a late dinner, chose the two meat platters. Smoked Brisket and Pulled Pork. Cook to perfection, just enough fat for flavoring. Staff super Kool and courteous. Great music selection for dining . GENEROUS PORTIONS
Amazing local BBQ joint. Very whimsical and fun decor.
Love the service, love the food.
The seasoning salt they put on the fries was an issue...because I couldn't stop eating it. So good!
Brisket was delicious, fatty and juicy. Hush puppies were also very good. Tasted like a corn bread batter, and there were little pieces of jalapeno (I think) inside. The natural sweetness of the corn bread was perfect.
Can't wait to return and try more things!
UPDATE: Beer battered onion rings are a must-have. So. Good. Same with ribs.
At a new BBQ spot, I often like to sample as many of the meats as possible and the BBQ sauces. But when I saw the Brisket Reuben on the menu, I immediately made an exception and I am so glad I did.
This sandwich features brisket, swiss cheese, cole slaw, and pickled rye sauce on honey wheat bread.
I wish I was eating this sandwich right now. Among everything I ate on this road trip, which included many much more touted foods (such as the best wings in America at J. Timothy’s Tavern in CT and New Haven style pizza at Frank Pepe’s), this was my favorite item.
The BBQ sauces I found a little sweet, but the sandwich didn’t need them whatsoever. I also regret being too full to try to any of the side items on the menu — which some would argue, is the best part of eating bbq.
In any case, between B.T. and Tree House, what a one-two combo.
I liked the casual ambiance here and the fact that the trash can was labeled “Boneyard” was also a nice touch.
The best BBQ in NE and it’s not even close. They have a huge menu and I’ve never had something I didn’t like.
Brisket and Pastrami (special) were excellent. The Rusty Can is the only place that in the area that comes close to matching the quality of the brisket. The beef rib is also to die for and extremely affordable in comparison to what others charge.
I would definitely not sleep on the buttermilk fried chicken either! Might be the best I’ve ever had and would drive there just to eat it if was the only thing on the menu
Do yourself a favor and visit!
Not bad. The pulled pork sandwich was huge but on the fatty side. The pulled chicken had a ton of dark meat. The brisket was awesome and because I had the meal it was easy to cut the fat off! Everything was very smoky and you will leave smelling. Overall pretty good.
You can’t even go wrong with smokehouse food. We ordered the 3 meat platter with 2 sides: Brisket, a pulled pork, ribs with Mac n cheese, coleslaw and cornbread. Everything was melt in your mouth amazing. Brisket was by far my favorite. BYOB and limited seating but they don’t allow “table hogs”.
Having lived all over the south and sampled brisket from Alabama, Mississippi, TX, Tennessee and North Florida I laughed when I passed this little smokehouse in Sturbridge Massachusetts which had the audacity to put “Southern Barbecue” right on their dog gone sign!! That was too much, so I had to stop.
The north has apparently continued to plunder the south and nothing is sacred anymore!! This brisket was as good as any I’ve had anywhere and better than most! The crusted bits and the soft, tasty inner was spectacular. Even the smoke finish stayed with every bite!!
It’s a real cute inside place to sit and eat. Heck, if George Straight or Alan Jackson had been on the radio and none of the Massachusetts dinner guests had spoken, I’d have forgotten where I was!! They do talk funny though ????!! Well done y’all
Casual quality barbecue with some great sauces. Atmosphere is laid back roadhouse, but the hard work it takes to churn out the platters of tender, juicy, smoky perfection for a line of customers is unmistakable. Highly recommend
