Best WLM Reviews
I love this store. They have the best selection of hair that I need as well.as supplies. Im a cosmetologist so I come here often. The prices are decent and they have good sales. Idk about all these reviews saying they are rude and racist because I'm always welcomed and have never seen anyone followed. ????????♀️ My favorite go to store.
Only Nice person there is Kayla. I called attempting to price a brow lamination kit and they refused to tell me the price over the phone. Said I have to be there for me to know the price. And they will not give it to me over the phone. I find them very unprofessional and it makes it hard for Kayla who is very nice worker. maybe their only nice employee. Probably won’t ever return to this store.
This is a RACIST beauty supply just like many other Asian owned that markets to predominantly black customers in predominantly black neighborhoods that discriminate against the predominant black shoppers. They have black women in here who are suppose to “KNOW their people” and I’ve caught the “I’m watching you” stare from both ethnics along with being followed throughout the aisles. I’ve Shazammed (2) songs while browsing and If they’re reading this, I had on the black scrub set, white strawberry crocs with two buns in the back of my hair and I left my cart in the eyelash section (to give y’all something to do). I’m a cosmetology student that was IN UNIFORM at the time of visit that just left class and came straight here so NO I’m not a nurse or medical/dental professional AND I definitely won’t recommend this business to my classmates as cosmetology students and cosmetologists do get accounts/discounts at beauty suppliers. Today, I didn’t bother to ask because I will not be returning and looking for other beauty suppliers or stick to strictly ordering online for my supplies. I will not support this racist business, that uses black women to lure black women into their stores and still being discriminatory because one’s an employee/trustee and the other is not. If they’re like this to the customers, the employees must be walking on eggshells knowing how fast they can endure the other side of this treatment. Absolutely disgusting.
If you buy any electronics flat irons etc and they don’t work you can’t get a refund … or an exchange… I bought babyliss pro flat irons that don’t work at all and was told to email the email address on the box … plus on Amazon everything they sell is cheaper .. I paid 199 at the store Amazon was 160 ….just letting y’all know… so I called the manufacturer and they even said they should let me exchange them !
Today I was working there and the manager and employee’s were very rude. Today was my first day as well. I have a complaint on discrimination. I also will be calling cooperate on this place because I can tell how they look down on they’re workers. I’m not sure if its just black people but it’s still wrong either way. I was helping customers and they told me I need to communicate better with them because I am way too kind and help them more than I should. I don’t understand what the problem was because all of the customers gave me good remarks and they appreciated my help. I feel like the Korean managers were hating and showing some kind of jealousy towards me. Overall the store did look nice I can give them that.
Very nice store. Well stocked with plenty of hair products, skin care, accessories, wigs etc. However the biggest issue is there are several ladies following patrons all around the store. I was there with my 16 year old daughter & niece. They were shopping & browsing as I was. This was our first time there so we were taking it all in. I realized we were being watched. An older lady was following their every move. Clueless they were with me. She then said something to a younger employee. She began to pull her hair up & approach the girls. Asked if they needed help. It was at that point I stopped her. Politely told her what I witnessed and she would not be doing that to them. She apologized. I spoke to a young African American girl there & she said she keep talking to them about it & telling them they need to stop. For me...nice store but my first & last time there.
Zero stars. I went into the store on 12/22/20 and was followed around by what may have been a manager, a petite woman of Asian descent. Even while speaking with an associate, a lovely young lady who was doing a great job helping me, the manager came over and started talking over the young woman and being rude. The young woman waited until the manager stopped yelling at her and then politely informed her she was checking something for me. The manager then lurked around the entire rest of the time while I shopped. She was so close, I asked her if I could help HER. She never looked at me in the eye and walked away to a nearby place where she continued to watch me. I took the basket of products I was shopping for and took them to "Max" ((older man of Asian descent)) and informed him that I was being followed, and that it was making me uncomfortable but he could not be bothered to look at me while I was speaking. I told him I was not going to buy anything at this point, and I left. I am exhausted with this kind of treatment and it is infuriating that we as a community are still shopping at places like this. This was my first and last time in that store. When will my green dollars be more important than my Black face?
First, I would give them negative stars if possible. My wife stopped by yesterday and was followed by the assumed manager. My wife is a professional, PhD student and just minding her business and this older Asian woman was following her like a criminal. Eventually my wife asked the woman if she could help her, and she walked away. My wife was speaking with one of the associate, a very nice black lady, and she told my wife that they have voiced to the manager, yet this Asian woman has not change her behavior. My wife decided not to purchased anything and spoke with the guy, Max, behind the cash register. He would not even look at my wife's face.
This is 2020 and we are under a pandemic. I will not stand to have my queen treated this way. The manager knows there is a problem and still treat people of color like criminals. The only way their behavior will change, if ever, is when we decide not use spend our hard earned money there.
