Best WLM Reviews
Food is amazing
Made to order and delicious .
The cashier is usually a fire ball with a great personality.
The down side when I ordered my food online a few weeks ago, my order was bland and sloppily made. The eat in environment isn't a great dining experience so I suggest taking your food to go.
I hope they continue to grow ,expand and keep consistent with delicious food .
So, I read the negative comments, which honestly turned me off from this place, but I ended up going anyway. YO, what the hell were those people talking about?!?! This food was really GOOD. I had no issue with the seasoning-- it was perfect. I had the Salisbury steak over rice with greens and mac and cheese with peach cobbler for dessert. And everything was good. They could work on the corn muffin (I give it a 5 out of 10), but other than that, the meal was solid. I judge places by if I will go back again and I would 100% go back here. Oh, I visited on 12/27, and it was just me there, so i had a chance to talk to the owners. Very nice people. Go check them out and expect to pay $20 for a full meal with beverage. It was worth it.
Not sure about the other reviews but other then the cornbread muffin (was to dry for my liking) I think my food was great. BBQ chicken, string beans, cabbage cornbread muffin and a tea. Was priced right. First time having soul food.
I was so excited about trying this spot out. I found out about them from one of the marketplaces and when I heard they had vegan ice cream and vegan desserts I was intrigued. I was even more excited to learn that they offered turkey chops. As a person who does not eat beef or pork and I have not done so in over 30 years, I was looking forward to a new way to enjoy turkey. Unfortunately the turkey chops were not flavorful, they were a bit tough, and a bit dry. The outer coating had flavor but the meat itself did not. There were a lot of tough spots and gristle, with fatty pieces, so needless to say I did not enjoy the chops at all. The cornbread muffin was definitely burnt, you could see it without even removing the liner and there's no way this should have been sold to a customer, in my opinion. Upon further inspection it definitely was black on the bottom when I removed the liner which was rather disappointing because I'm one of the few people who enjoys a cornbread muffin. The highlight of my meal was the greens. Not only did they not have any pork or beef in them, but they were flavorful and tender. The yams were also a hit.
I paid about $20 for my meal so I definitely was disappointed that I did not enjoy the main entree. I forgot to mention that the smothered turkey chops were served on top of rice with gravy. The rice had no hint of salt, pepper or any seasoning and it was very bland. The gravy taste fine but it needed to be all over the rice for the rice to have some flavor. As you can see from the video I didn't eat much of the rice or the chops but I ate all of the greens and later in the day I finish the yams, so I paid $20 for a small serving of greens and yams LOL. Next time I will probably order just vegetables unless I see another entree that I'm willing to take a risk on.
I gave the atmosphere a three because the TV and music was playing. The music was overpowering the TV and for me I would have preferred one or the other, preferably the music.
I didn't get any vegan cake or ice cream on this visit because I didn't have time in my day to be able to enjoy it. I will give them another shot and hopefully I'll be able to increase the rating. Go by and check them out. They are small local business and I'm a fan of both. I was welcomed when I came in, however, while taking my order the young lady stopped in the middle of placing my order to walk away and pull some things out the cooler to put on the counter. I had to ask her did you submit my order? She said oh no let me come and finish that. So that extended the already long wait for my meal. I noticed two other people walked in while I was there to pick up they're order, but their food wasn't ready when they got there but they only waited for a few minutes before they were handed their food. In the future I will definitely be ordering in advance.
I still gave them four stars instead of three simply because the vegetables were good, and the lady was polite enough. Plus they're a fairly new business in the area and I want to see them succeed so I'm hopeful that they will be around for the long haul.
Try to support BOB but this place is horrible.
Food had no taste, no seasoning. The cornbread and string beans was OK. Pork chop tasted like it was made the day before. Rice tasted like it was burnt. Gravy was bland. Chicken wasn’t cooked all the way. The Mac and cheese tasted like plain noodles. Cabbage and pinto beans is a no. Everything just bland. The ice cream tasted like a candle. Strawberry cake was OK. The food took way too long for it to taste like nothing…literally.
The food was unbelievable good. I ordered the Smoked Turkey Legs with cabbage, Black Eye Peas and Rice with cornbread simply delicious. My boyfriend had the Baked Chicken, Mac & Cheese Black Eye Peas and Potato Salad. And It was AMAZING. It was so good we got a peach cobblers for desert. Had to take one to go. You must try it!!
Oh my goodness! So glad we stopped here, and we will definitely be back again! Everything was delicious, but the dressing was heavenly! Large portions and definitely worth the wait.
