Highly recommend! Food and service were both great. Pretty view of the harbor at sunset. Family friendly, no wait to be seated, reasonable wait time for food to come out. You MUST try the garlic knots; the crab dip was good too, although they don’t send much bread to eat with the dip, our sweet waitress brought crackers and that was fine. Overall a good little dinner spot!! I do feel like it’s worth noting since some people have mixed opinions on this — they automatically add 20% gratuity to every ticket and also include a receipt asking for additional tip.
First time customer and I was thrilled to see that you can make reservations online ahead of time. With littles, this is a game changer and so appreciated!
The service was excellent and the atmosphere is beautiful. The view of the bay is stunning and the outdoor seating overlooking everything was a favorite for sure.
We had the smoked tuna dip for an appetizer and it was delicious. The consistency was a bit different than we’re used to but the pita chips were the perfect combination with them.
Our waiter made several recommendations and I landed on their shrimp and grits which were delicious! More of a Cajun style take on it and the combination of flavors was perfect! Great portion sizes as well. I could have definitely taken a to go box home for the next day.
This restaurant does have an interesting business model in that rather than tipping they charge a 20% service fee automatically. I read about this beforehand and thought it was a really cool concept and idea and shows they care about retaining their employees which I’m sure translates to less turnover!
Overall, while my hubby didn’t love his dish I believe we will be back!
This was our first time at Brotula’s & it was perfect from the time we sat down until the time we left. Kel was our waiter while there & he definitely made sure we were taken care of, very professional & kind. The food was absolutely amazing, we ordered the spicy crab dip & blackened snapper; it was delicious! This restaurant is a must if we are ever back in the area!
The crab dip is delicious ! Brotula, key lime pie, everything we tasted was amazing. The service was 10/10. Page was our server and was incredibly nice and positive. We overlooked the marina on the patio and it was really nice. We had our 1 year old with us and a lot of families with young kids were there but it was a really nice ambience and atmosphere. We will definitely go back!!!
The food was amazing! The service was great! And the atmosphere was wonderful! It is pricey expect to spend no less than $100.00 but definitely worth every penny!
Dined here last night with a party of about 40. Our two servers were absolutely wonderful. We got our drinks and all of our food items in record time for a party that large.
I was slightly disappointed that they did not have any tuna dip smoked, and we had to pick a different appetizer of crab claws. They were OK but I do feel like they were a little bit over battered and too crunchy. I also tried a cup of gumbo, it had a lot of meats incorporated. My husband got the blackened snapper over the roasted potatoes for his dinner, and it was outstanding. I tried the Brotula, not very impressed. The lobster sauce didn’t have much flavor, and I was looking for more of a zing with the lemon lobster butter sauce like described by the servers. My fish was a little bit dry.
Drinks were amazing. I also tried the bread pudding this month special was Oreo bread pudding, and it was a miss. It was pretty dry as well.
Overall, I would like to come back here and try a couple other things on the menu.
An extremely chill place on the water to get masterfully prepared seafood and exceptional service from our server, Mason.
We shared the Baled Oyster Rockefeller (which were stellar) and a Deluxe Ragin Cajun Water Front Bucket that could have served 4 people! We left extremely satisfied - I only wish I could have tried their Brotula and Key Lime Pie!
A must go while in Fort Walton!! Our server was Grace and she was wonderful! She was basically a one woman show. She sat us, served us and checked us out. We had the snapper and key lime pie. Hands down, they both were the best I’ve ever had! Key lime pie was better than Mrs. Mac’s kitchen key lime pie. All recommend by Grace!!
