Driving from Southeastern Illinois to Arkansas today. After checking out restaurants reviews on Google and Facebook pages we decided to get off the interstate and check this place out.
Their Facebook page had just posted their daily specials and WOW pictures don't lie.
We got their pork steak special and one for the road. Let me tell you we both fell in love with the quality of the meat and it's smokey tender goodness. I legit could eat it with a spoon like I was eating ice cream!
You get beyond what you pay for! Quality and awesome service. The waitress was friendly and promptly took care of us. Drinks never got empty!
As we were getting ready to leave a man walked up and asked about our meal. We told him how much we enjoyed it and he was super kind explaining process, quality and quantity. Found out it was the owner!

From walking in the door to sitting down, we felt welcomed. Even the owner himself came out and talked with us. We had the squirrel plate, I believe is what's is called. With cheesy corn,mac and cheese,texas toast,and 26+oz of pork steak 5stars!!!! Exceptional food. Exceptional service. Exceptional atmosphere!! Love the fact that our soda was in a closed container????We will definitely be back!! Word of mouth is great advertisement!! First impressions are a lasting impression!! Thank you again Brooster's !!
This place has the best food. I have traveled across many states and the pork steak is so tender. Ribs second to none. Price is very reasonable. Will be back ... do your tastebuds a favor and check this place out
March 5th, 2024. Stopped by to try it, very nice people, very clean place, smelled nice too. Well lit, but not blinding, and music not loud. Dining room, open area, seats about 50 to 70 maybe. I don't eat pork, they had a lot of chicken options. I ordered two bbq chicken breast sandwiches, big portions, hand cut skinny fries, was delicious. BBQ for chicken (usually honey mustard, I ordered BBQ sauce instead), was tangy, mildly sweet, thin, but generous, not spicy hot but still spicy. I liked it. Lettuce and tomato was fresh, not bitter or bland. As always, lately, it's the prices of things that bother me. I got the 2 big sandwiches and 1 fries, $30.29. no drinks. So basically a little higher than other fast food places. But it wasn't fast food that is yucky when cold. This was hot, fresh, and actually smoked chicken fillets, not off flavor chicken, but slightly sweet, real smoke, and that pleasant bit of smoked dryness with juicy toppings. I recommend this place very much if you want something better and fresher.
Overpriced on the rib sandwich, fries wasn't fresh. Ribs to dry, needed more sauce.
Started with a very good appetizer, pulled pork nachos, and then the BBQ sandwich with sweet potato fries plate I had was one of, if not the best tasting plate of BBQ I’ve ever enjoyed. We will be back soon.
The best food and drinks in Dexter! If you haven’t been there it’s a must!! I will continue going there. The staff is amazing as well! They do NOT disappoint! Love this place!
The catfish was wonderful and the ribs was wonderful top. Let's just the food was wondeful!!! Atmosphere was excited and drinks was good too!!!!
