Clean shop, tasty food, and excellent service... We came at lunch time. Not too busy, plenty of parking space. Ordered lobster, geoduck clam soup and salad. The soup was hot and the seafood was fresh.... Very delicious meal. The server was polite and always around tending to the customers. Definitely coming back!
Finally got to eat here after trying for a while. We were only a group of two but this place is built for large parties. Parking lot is small so best case is for an early dinner. We’re old so we chose 4:30. It’s the early bird but we parked in front and there’s no wait.
Our dishes were great and the star is the lobster with garlic noodles. We chose the small 4 pounds. Great spices and flavors, and adequate for two. We also ordered the beef with mushroom and salt and pepper fish fillet. All great.
For two, total was $180 plus tip. That’s not an everyday meal. I can see a special occasion for sure
My uncle took us there for dinner. That was one of the largest lobster I have eaten. It comes with noodles under all that lobsters. The beef cube was so good. The baby snow pea left was also good. It was not a cheap dinner. Total was $261 + tip $39 =$300. Definitely worthy.
Great for a family dining experience of 8 adults and 2 children. If you come here with a large group make a reservation. We normally make a reservation but forgot this time and tried to just wait it out. The parking lot was packed for a Friday night @ 6:30pm. We gave up trying to circle the lot as a bunch of people were stopped and not moving so that started getting some folks frustrated. We parked on the street and walked in to avoid the hassle. The wait was close to minutes and was a little tough for the impatient elders and toddlers. Once you get seated and order you will notice it’s a really big restaurant. They can seat a lot of people and large parties with no issues. There is tons of staff and once ordered, the food comes quick. I believe this was the $388 set meal with additions. We added garlic noodles under the lobster and swapped out the sea cucumbers for fried calamari and also added a fried tofu plate. The bill ended up being over $500 when we were done. Even though it looks like a lot of food there wasn’t a lot left over. The starter soup is thick and cornstarch-y and after adding pepper it was decent. The food is ok more like 3.5 stars on food instead of the 3 I gave. Skip putting the garlic noodles under the lobster as it comes out very oily on the bottom. On the plus side I don’t believe a single clam has a crunch to it so they did a great job cleaning all of them and the lobster was quite meaty. Our crab needed to be meatier since being dried fries made the meat shrivel inside the shells and seemed underwhelming.
I first learned about Boston lobster via Instagram post from a food influencer, and immediately I knew I had to try it. Every dish that we had I enjoyed, the crab, the Special lobster was so savory, the seafood soup, the Thai tea, garlic noodles, and more the service was impeccable, and the inside of the restaurant was very nice, perfect for large parties and the rotating center piece tables was fun. It made sharing meals/dishes very easy. The spices and seasoning were all blended very well into the seafood dishes and sides. The marinade on the beef was amazing too. I definitely recommend this place for a large gatherings and also for great authentic Chinese food.
This restaurant moved to the new location on Rosemead Blvd. they did a really great job with the renovations and there plenty of spaces to accommodate big and small parties. The decorations are very nostalgic with old photos of well know Chinese cities. Of course we ordered the house special lobster, shaky beef cubes, clams stir fried with basil leaves and salt and pepper fried squids and tau miei(Chinese peas tips). The Lobster has all the necessary ingredients of lots of chopped green onions and jalapeños but it was missing something plus it’s not enough sauce to cover the lobster meat compares to a Tân Căn Seafood Restaurant. The shaky beef is a bit tough and it doesn’t have the burnt seared flavor and lastly, the fried salt&pepper squid just not there. The batter is weak and didn’t taste the S&P flavor. On the positive note, the service was really excellent. Make sure everyone in your party is present before they bring you to the table.
This place moved into a better location because now there is more parking, and more seating available. The food is still really good. You have to get the lobster with the noodles. You probably Lu know that everything else is good as well, but there is a reason the restaurant is called Boston Lobster. Clams in black bean sauce were good too. Service is attentive and they come out every once in a while to refill your tea and give you fresh plates. Will keep coming here because the quality is still good after all these years and hard to do in a newer and bigger location.
After placing our order “with the manager” who was servicing us - ended up never/forgetting to place our order.
Then as we waited with our 2 kids - we watched families who sat down after us getting their orders. This is 30 mins after into our order.
When we raised the issue - we were met with waiters rushing orders at our table with food which we didn’t even order.
When we got our “order” it was not even complete - as we ordered the house special lobster with garlic noodles - there were NO NOODLES. When we mentioned the fact - the waiter aka “the manager” - brought us a plate of noodles which looked like it has been just sitting around - no flavor, not hot. We ended up mixing the noodles and lobster ourselves.
Overall - it’s obvious that as we did not fit into the atmosphere ethically- there was a lack of importance in the service provided to us VS the other guests.
The beef was undercooked, the walnut shrimp tasted like it was rushed and the shrimp/ pork rice looked like they just slapped it together.
The service is VERY poor - but the lobster was good ONLY.
