Best WLM Reviews
Literally- AMAZING!!
For my husband‘s birthday, I made a little mini pizza tour of New York style pizza shops here in Columbus. He’s from upstate New York, and pizza just isn’t the same around here… Until we found this gem. Incredible food, amazing staff & we cannot wait to come back! You have to try the cannoli it’s Scrumptious and the pizza is just about as close to New York as you can get without being there!!
Everything we tried was amazing.
And to top the experience off when the staff heard of what we were doing, they even brought out something additional for us to samples just so we could get a good taste of quality pizza. That’s what local shops are all about and we just loved it.!!!!
We’ve been here twice and didn’t really like it either time. We’ve gotten take out today. Two pastas had almost no sauce on them. The salad was nice. The three items cost $58. Not a good value. The pizza we had the first time around was greasy and floppy. Staff is nice, space is really nice….food is missing big time.
Borgata Pizza Cafe has the best New York style pizza you can get in Columbus. The dough was perfectly baked and the sauce is reminiscent of some of the pizzas I had in NYC.
The cannolis were wonderful as well. The filling was very rich and they didn't skimp on the pistachios.
The service was great and our server was friendly. The prices were also fantastic for the amount of food you get. This is definitely a place you need to stop by if you want good pizza in Columbus.
We stopped for our first time here this weekend. Our server was super friendly and made some recommendations. We wound up going with a simple cheese and then a meat lovers. Both 12 inch. They were quite large and very cheesy. Not too much sauce and generous with toppings. Loved the crust and it was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back to try out more of the menu items.
The food is good. I have had better pizza.
Ordered a meatball, mushroom and onion pizza. Loaded with toppings which was great. Crust on my pie was thin and would not pass the stand test (floppy pizza). I think they would go far by making their pies a little thicker (just my opinion).
Atmosphere - new and nice but is an echo chamber with all the hard surfaces. I would get some tapestries to hang (OSU carpets ) to absorbed sound)
The server was a rockstar.
I would go back
Interesting reading other reviewers; seemed to either love it or hate it. We found this place by accident after we went to a different pizza place, which was supposed to open at 4:00; but, by 4:15, the restaurant was still dark. We weren’t willing to wait around for the ovens to get hot (but, that’s another review for somewhere else).
This restaurant is in a strip mall, large and open, with a bar to the left as you walk in. There are ample tables and chairs for dine-in seating. The acoustics wasn’t the best; we arrived before they got busy, which I was thankful for. There are multiple TV screens, at the time, playing football and basketball. The kitchen was big and open; it appeared to be clean and well staffed. Pizza boxes were stacked up high prepared for business. The staff were all wearing masks.
The server we had was very nice; she was attentive and kept our drinks filled - I didn’t hear her name (she had very pretty purple hair).
We ordered garlic cheese bread and it was served with marinara sauce; it was a large portion and easily shared between three people (had leftovers to take home, actually).
We split a 20” pizza, half cheese, half pepperoni pizza. The sauce was good, cheese cooked to a light, golden brown on top. The crust was a little over done on one side but the advantage to NY style, you don’t always need to eat the crust.
I ordered a meatball just to try it out. It had a good texture, definitely “homemade” consistency, topped with cheese and surrounded by sauce (a.k.a. gravy to some).
I ordered a sweet tea, no ice. It was a little light on both the flavor of the tea, and the “sweet”.
I must say, I think they are a little on the pricey side. It isn’t that the product they are serving isn’t good, it is just a little over the cost I am willing to pay for what I ordered; especially since in this case, you aren’t paying for ambience along with your food.
All-in-all, would I make a special trip and seek this restaurant out? No. Would I go back?Perhaps, if I was in the area and wanted a few meatballs. I’d do 3.5 stars but that isn’t an option on Google, at this time.
We had food delivered, and the chicken on our salad came completely frozen. When I called the restaurant, they did not care that their food was a poor quality and told me I had to reach out to GrubHub to get refunded. The refund is second to the fact that we had no food which seems like that should be a priority for a restaurant, especially a local one. We will never go here again, and we encourage others to avoid it as their customer service and customer care is absent.
Spectacular pizza pie - first off it's not Columbus style- which means bonus points in my book. The crust is on point and just the right level of "floppy" and fold ability. We opted for the 14" and it was huge. For the same price as elsewhere it knocked gem to the wayside.
When it comes to pizza cheap is cheap- chain is chain - and excellence is from the heart. I would definitely say these folks are making it from the ❤️.
We had more than enough to Nkomo the next day. We also got 2 side salads and there were zero inferior pieces (not the case recently with most places trying to sneak in slightly brown or on the edge items). Maybe folks are paying less attention but you could tell they used fresh ingredients and really took pride in making a nice product.
The house made balsamic dressing was #sogood I was happy to dip my crust in it and savor the last drops.
We will definitely return. We pass a few pizza places on the way- and it is worth it.
We can't wait to try them again.
