This place was right up our alley. Lot's of tasty beverage choices. Not your typical bar food selection. We ordered steak and eggs and a meat lovers omlete. Well seasoned and full of flavor. The music selection was great. We also enjoyed the Stein holding challenge on TV. Our bartender made everything enjoyable. We really enjoyed our custom built Bloody Marys!
This place is a serious contender for one of the best restaurants in Springfield.
The "Lincoln Log" appetizer was surprisingly good.
Our server was friendly and attentive, our meals came out quickly (without any flaws), and each of us was impressed by the quality and flavor of our selections.
Wonderful bar selection, even including non-alcoholic options.
Beyond all that, the view of the capitol building from the front door of the restaurant is really great!
If you're here visiting the Illinois State Museum (which is free, by the way), it's an easy walk!
This food was awesome. The wife and I made ourselves miserable. It was cooked to order, super hot, and those waffle fries had a good crunch. Great service also.
Fantastic bar and restaurant next to the free parking lot for the capitol complex. We just had to order the horseshoe and the pork tenderloin, and both were quite good. The sweet potato fries are cut into waffles and come with a great brown sugary dip. They even serve a great Old Fashioned to boot. Highly recommended.
We keep trying to give this place a chance. We are down to once a year now. We know and really appreciate a couple of the servers and want to show that. But when the the food is so pre done, colorless and tasteless yet costs $12 it's not worth it. Deli sliced ham was used and under done potatoes for a skillet. Come on. Stop pre toasting your bread then shoveling it out limp. Its supposed to be TOAST not limp. Great tots is about all I can say. See you in a year. Hopefully you have your affairs in order by then.
I am very saddened to write this as I have been to Boones before and have had great service. My grandparents and I came to Boones last night to enjoy the food and listen to some good music, but our service was absolutely horrible. We waited around 20 minutes for our server to greet us, so long that the hostess brought us waters while we waited. We immediately put in our orders when our server finally came and also put in our drinks. We did not see our server again for probably an hour, but we did see other workers as they brought us our drinks. Another table were sat outside and that is when we saw our server again. It had been over an hour since we had ordered and so I asked her if she could check on our food and she told us it would be right out. Thirty minutes go by and our server is no where to be found, as well as our food. We spoke with the manager and it turns out, our food order was never placed! We left after waiting over two hours for food and no refills on drinks. We still had to pay for our drinks, which I can somewhat understand, but I believe we should have been compensated for the two hours wasted. I really do love this place, but I do not think I can come back after the experience we had last night.
Very unique menu with delicious options. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. The entrance was hard to open when we went, so we ended up going through a back way our first time. One of the draft beers we ordered was flat and tasted off, but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. Great brunch spot!
These guys are doing it right! A fantastic atmosphere for gathering with friends or a very comfortable dining experience. Brunch, lunch, or dinner... all have been wonderful. Tonight we also enjoyed live acoustic music. A pleasant experience every time we stop in. Put this one on your list!
