Used door dash to eat at home. Was very good in taste, big portions for the price, and order was correct. Have eaten in restaurant as well many times and have perfect service with friendly staff. If you haven't tried here it would definitely be a place to try.
When they first opened l disliked everything I ordered. I am a BBQ connoisseur if I do say so myself. I decided to retry them after a few years, and the rib sandwich is off the hook good. The ribs are meaty, well seasoned, and tender. The serving size for a sandwich is huge. Depending on how hungry I am it will take me 2 attempts to finish. I get 1 or 2 rib sandwiches a week. They aren't cheap but they are affordable. I haven't gotten the nerve to try anything else. I wish I could give them 3.5 stars because their (good) customer is not consistent and because I still am skeptical about the rest of the food.
I REALLY want to like this place. I was born in the Midwest so BBQ sauce is in my blood. Unfortunately the food is meh. Everything is bland, especially the potato salad. You should smell a BBQ restaurant before you even see it but I can't smell it inside the restaurant. If you don't eat pork then you have to pay a lot more money. I have been there 4 separate times and it's always disappointing. I didn't even eat my meal yesterday. They give you bread slices that aren't even toasted or buttered. No cornbread. It should be criminal to call this a BBQ restaurant!
After reviewing bbq joints all over the south east, I have to say this is one of my least favorite. The atmosphere was cold. Nobody took off their jackets when they came in. As you can see the meat on the sandwich was blender. I believe a filler was added. It had the consistency of a uncooked crab cake. The flavor was o.k but for the price just not what I would expected.
So if you are thinking of going out of your way for this hometown bbq/ fish house i wouldn't do it again.
I called for a pickup order around 7:20 and was told the food would take 10 minutes. I got to the window at 7:40 and sat until 8 pm without getting my food, and the waitress kept coming back to the window to half-heartedly say sorry.
This place was already mid (and I was tryna give it another chance), but this really solidified it as THE Worst BBQ place in the entire Lowcountry and surrounding area I’ve been to so far. From really, really, really, REALLY bad mac and cheese out of a pan to 40-minute drive thru service on call-ahead orders, you’re better off going to any other place in the area.
This was my first visit, and I had an amazing experience. Great service. Mouthwatering food. And, the owner was extremely attentive and kind. You’ll love this place.
I ordered mild and lemon pepper wings, there was absolutely no seasoning on any of the wings. If I wasn't so far away I would have return the whole order.
I had pork nachos without the bbq sauce, planning to add it myself. . Yum. It had melted cheese all over the pork and chips. So good it didn’t need bbq sauce. Great value for $8.99! If I didn’t live almost 200 miles away, I would be back. If I pass through again someday, I will stop in again.
