Best WLM Reviews
The chowder was good, lots of clams in there. The kids ate the chicken but the fries were not that great. The coleslaw was bitter like the other reviewer said. Do not order the calamari, for $16 I legit thought I was punked. Honestly the food did not live up to the hype and whoever said it wasn’t overpriced you’re in the upper tax bracket lol. I will say though that the staff was really nice and helpful
We read reviews that this was good... so much for reviews. To be fair the chowder was good and the service was good. The chicken strips were overcooked as was the fish. Didn't finish the fries. But the cost was obscene... 2 pieces of fish & chips, 2 chicken strips and small clam chowder... $50. It just plain wasn't even close to being delicious. Should have gone to Long John Silver for better food and a third the price.
Not from the area but this place has a great variety of seafood including clam chowder, fried oysters, fish and chips and more! I had the chowder sampler and it was terrific to try different types of chowders. Ever had Salmon chowder??
Such a bummer. We arrived at 7:15 pm only to be told they were closing soon- and could only do take out. We were surprised as the advertised closing time was 8pm.
No worries!! We grabbed our take-out and went back to our hotel.
Husband had six shrimp in his prawns scampi- and the pasta sauce was terrible. Plain at best. My 20 dollar four fried oysters were the size of my thumbnail— mostly breading. We were disappointed with the fact that they close before closing, and the food was sub par at best.
Portions are good, flavor is way too salty and the oil that everything is cooked in always tastes like it should be changed out... it has a strange flavor to it which I have noticed over several times. Chowder had a very strange texture this time.
The food here was great and the price wasn’t too steep either for the types of food. Great experience and if you are in the local area, I would highly recommend. Their chowder is amazing and “The Clam Digger” was amazing!
I finally tried Bob's Chowder House in Anacortes and regret not doing so sooner! The clam chowder is fantastic, loaded with razor clams and bacon. Halibut and chips portions are generous, although the halibut was a tad dry. Still, the flavor was excellent.
Good food, really good Chowder. The inside of the restaurant surprises you. Does not match the outside. Really nice atmosphere, with lots of room between tables.
Only issue was that my server seemed a bit new at his job. After bringing us our food, he never came and checked back on us till our meal was all done. My husband had finished his drink and had wanted a refill less than half way through the meal. We shared and nursed my little Pepsi the entire time.
Other than that it was a great place, and I'm sure the waiter will get better with time.
