Went for late lunch yesterday on 3/6/24 after 3 pm and had highly advertised fish dinner. Later was told they were out of slaw and i got corn that was dry and old. Fish was greasy and not at all crispy. Some of my fries were mostly raw. Had to rush home to bathroom for both of us. Hope not to return. First time our food here was bad.
I stopped for a late lunch during the week. The food was good and the expected quality for this chain. The server was very kind and attentive. She made sure I had everything.
Detracting from all these positive notes was one huge problem. The tables and floors were a disaster with food messes. The server had to search around for a clean table to seat me. I was there for at least 30 minutes and no one came around cleaning up either. I'm guessing they were understaffed that day.
While traveling we started getting hungry so we decided to stop at Bob Evans. We were seated at a table that had some food on the floor under one chair, probably a young child seated there before me, so I just sat in the other one closer to the wall. Ordered a couple of breakfasts off the menu. Eggs, sausage patties, French toast and pancakes. I also tried the strawberry purée and orange juice. Food was good, waitress was friendly, our order took a while longer then I hoped but not unreasonably long. The restaurant was mildly busy. If I was traveling through I would probably stop again. I would order just plain orange juice though. Didn’t think the price was worth it for the combination fruit drink.
Great breakfast and food service! Small wait to pay the check at the counter, but they were short staffed I think.
Excellent service by wait staff. Music was too loud, causing our guests to raise voices above normal conversation level. Our server requested that the volume of the music be lowered. No luck. While I was going to pay, I asked the Manager if the music could be lowered. He said it's controlled outside of the building. The problem is that I had asked a different Manager on a previous visit, and that person turned the music down so we could talk with each other at our table.

I was hungry for a steak, I asked the waitress and she said they were very good. I ordered a steak medium well pink inside but not bloody. Also, two sides, bread and tea. No problem until the first bite and I could not chew it because it was fill of grisel, the waitress did not return. I cut around what I could over half of it was so tough you could not stick a fork in it. A fork would not pierce that tough meat. The waitress came with check and offered a new steak. I said OK.
Then the manager comes out and attacks me. She says "all the steak is all the same, was mine cooked wrong, "no it was cooked fine." "All the steak has grisel and they are all the same." I had my check for $21. And 20% tip (the waitress was nice and offered me a steak to take or something else to eat). I told the manager I would pay for steak and by the way I am customer and I would not be back. I told her I did not like being argued with and made to feel like I was stealing. Three people behind me told me she was very rude to me. I paid and left she came up to the register and then said I didn't have to pay.
I have her name if anyone is interested.
Delivery order was completely messed up. Short one item, other items wrong. After two phone calls and face to face conversation with Manager I got $10 in gift cards. Yeah!
