The quality of the food and service has really gone downhill significantly. These hash browns are inedible (burnt and soaked in grease from a cooktop that clearly hasn’t been cleaned in a while) and when we told the waitress how bad the food is all she said was “Sorry.” Service is slow, food is slow to come out, and when it does it’s definitely not yummy. There are wayyyyy better places to eat, especially for the price of eating out these days.
Normally I would give a much higher rating for BE, because my husband and I have generally always left happy with tummys full and satisfied. But lately, I feel as if there needs to be a lot of improvement in this establishment. My husband and I visited on 5/18 and our visit was much less accomodating than usual. Aside from my cold brew being not as good as it usually is, my fried chicken being slightly overcooked, and my husbands bacon being hard to chew like rubber.. the food was generally okay. It was edible. However.. the service.. not so much. First, we had a very young gentleman as a waiter, maybe late teens, early 20s. He seemed very eager to get our order taken or get whatever we needed, then quickly run away from the table. All just to go back to chit chat hour with a group of about 5 employees just standing in a circle.. talking.. goofing off. We could hear majority of their conversation, it was literally nothing work related. I was getting more increasingly upset, as while we waited for biscuits that never got brought out.. or our check that never came.. there were also 2 tables directly behind and next to us that had yet to be cleaned off. By the time we were DONE eating and had to go to the counter to interupt chit chat hour to get our check and pay.. I happened to notice 2 MORE tables that needed cleaning. So.. ALL those employees just standing around having social hour, while a whole restaurant sits with people to be waited on, and tables to be bussed. Its not normally like this when we go. But I do feel like it must depend a lot on when you go, who is working, things like that.. which is sad. It should be good every time around, not just sometimes.
Horrible Horrible Horrible!!! Food was inadequate, burnt, and not even hot at all!!! The service was bad, the waitress was at least a half hour late, making things go slower. We had to wait a half hour for our food to even come. And this was my first time coming there...as well as my LAST. I was hoping my experience was gonna be good due to it being my first time there, but, it wasn't. It was trash. Honest opinion. Negative 5 stars.
The food was horrible. The pancakes tasted dry and rancid. Worse pancakes I have ever tasted in my life. The lemonade was to sweet then to sour. The eggs and home fries need seasoning. And the French toast was dry it had no flavor it tasted like it was horrible. I would not recommend going here for the food the only good thing was our waitress.
Stopped for breakfast. Did not wait long for food and everything was delicious. I recommend you ask for Jenna to serve you, my opinion is that she is the best server they have at this location. She's very kind and friendly.
Decent family style chain restaurant.
Staff are attentive and nice. I did go when it was particularly nonbusy since the super bowl was going on.
Food was pretty good. We got the value dinner combos. The fish was surprisingly good and actually seasoned, a rarity among chain American places. Whoever is cooking at this location seems to have a good idea how to make their existing items work well.
Prices are acceptable, especially in a time of rising prices everywhere. Drinks seem a bit expensive at 2.50+ for anything, but that's probably a sign of the times.
Would consider going again. Unfortunately there's a number of local restaurants in Erie that serve the same purpose, but this Bob Evans makes a compelling case to be a reasonable destination.
Word of caution, the water costs 1.50$. It says it on the menu but I doubt most people would assume to check that.
Cold Mac N Cheese for both kids. Burnt fish sandwich with very little to no toppings and over fried onion rings. Fresh fruit included good grapes and soggy, old cantaloupe slices. Cold mashed potatoes with the hard and warm country fried steak. Service was good but shouldn't have let that food leave the kitchen, cook needs replaced. This was the 2nd time I went for an evening dinner with the family, and the quality of the food was very poorly prepared.
HORRIBLE SERVICE! waited an extra 15 + minutes for my food just to get it cold !! nothing was cooked right either besides a few things! To top everything off before I even got the order I tried asking a young girl I saw working and you can just tell as I asked for her help she was judging me! Then she walked off and started laughing with one of her other young employees which I didn’t find anything funny, normally when you see someone walk in you’re restaurant looking unaware of where to go and pick up certain things you direct them “ hello, how can I help you today sir “ not just stand there and stare at me like I’m doing something wrong it was literally my first time ever ordering and stepping foot from this location and it will most definitely be my last! Never again , and I’d recommend spending you’re hard earn working money else where folks, happy saint patty’s day, ????????
