Best WLM Reviews
We are Bluegreen owners from the SW Missouri area. This is a beautiful area with many streams and hiking trails. If you love to hike and see postcard type scenery including waterfalls this is the perfect area. We booked a week the first week of April 2024. Upon arrival we were checked in quickly with no hassle of doing a review only to get our parking passes, map and room keys. The property is very well kept but currently under construction in some areas. We stayed in a 1 bedroom unit in building 24 on the lower backside. Parking to the unit is tight overlooking the pond. The pond was being drained for repairs so we weren’t able to really enjoy it. They have a couple fire pits. The unit was clean and cozy. Full kitchen with all standard appliances, dinnerware etc. A full size fridge and stack washer/dryer. The gas log fireplace heats the whole unit with no issues. They have a schedule of different events they do at the clubhouse like movie night. There are grocery stores close. We stayed busy exploring the natural beauty of the area like driving the Blue Ridge Parkway. Many roads are curvy and narrow. We went to Grandfather Mountain it was beautiful. We walked over the mile high swinging bridge, visited the exhibit and wild like area there. Many reviews implied it was free but you have to pay. $25 per adult, children were less. The Elk River Falls Waterfall was a fairly easy hike. Crab Orchard Falls “Waterfalls” was a little more intense hike with steeper grades to walk but it was worth it, just take your time.
This place is a mess! We were told the pool was open and its not. On the website it said they had boats and they don't. We had to move from one room because the light was filling with water from leaking air conditioning. The room we were moved into is in need of serious repair. Being an owner with Bluegreen, I'm upset having to waste points and time in such a substandard resort. I would not recommend this resort and I will not be returning.
This place was absolutely amazing! From the electric fireplace to the kitchen with the stove and fridge. The washer and dryer sealed it for me. Only minor complaint was the tiny corner shower stall. You had to have the door open to turn on the water and it sprayed out onto the floor. First time this happened I had to put towels down to sop up the water on the floor. Next night I turned the water on quickly and shut the door while the water got hot. This still got some water on the floor but it wasn’t as bad. I will definitely be back. Also, great staff!
Solver member and I got a bottom unit. No vie bit construction and no patio. Not even a chair when I said something he offered to bring a chair. Great area for vacation but disappointed in resort at least my unit. Will try again but won't ever recomend this time share. It seems like the more point you have the worst unit you get.
The resort is located in a perfect location, close to activities such as skiing, tubing, and hiking. The amenities within the resort can keep you occupied. We enjoyed playing miniature golf, fishing, crafting, outdoor fire pit, and an incredible game room. The staff were always extremely friendly and accommodating. Their recommendations were also spot on.
They are in the middle of reconstruction and I sure the rooms will be remodeled as well. Our bathroom had a jacuzzi tub... shower would definitely need to be an improvement. Fire place was not operational in our unit.. again to be remodeled.
My friend booked a spare condo so she offered my family to join her family for a road trip here. We were lucky to stay in one of the renovated units. So make sure to ask for the updated units.
Pros:
1. This place is very clean and spacious.
2. The kitchen has all basic needs such as dinnerware, silverware, knives set, cutting board, mugs, coffee maker, pots and pans set, just perfect for homecooks going on a travel.
3. Bed sheets are clean.
4. The closest grocery market is Lion Food which is located ten minutes away.
Cons:
1. The road in this area is very narrow and steep. It's the only concern I have especially driving at night.
2. The mattresses are very flimsy or soft. So if you have back problems and need a firm mattress like Hilton or Marriott hotels offer, then the beds here will not be comfortable. I couldn't sleep well and my back aches from sleeping in the mattress here.
For a recently updated room, there was an outdated garden tub, with a super tiny shower stall crammed in the corner. The bathroom cabinet doors were sagging, and it seemed like the table and chairs cluttered up the front room. Got a great look at the ghost white slopes of Sugar Mountain, so that offset the interior blah. Did it serve its purpose? Absolutely! Will we end up there again? I would say, Yes.
