I travel allot for work coast to coast.... by far the best burger I have ever had! Perfect crisp around the edges, juicy, but not so much it desenerates. The locals are super friendly and the staff was very welcoming. Deff recommend
I was so hopeful...
This is definitely a dive bar for locals. We came in for an early dinner and there were several families dining in playing pool or giant jenga with their kids. It was such a fun vibe. A coworker suggested Blue Wave and we were excited to try "the best burgers in Idaho Falls".
Unfortunately, outside of the fun atmosphere, the rest of the experience was lackluster. We seated ourselves and waited close to 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge we were there. It wasn't just us either. The table across from us were also clearly tapping their feet in anticipation. Someone from that table actually ended up walking over to the bar to ask for service. Once our waitress finally made it to the table, we had mulled over what we were going to order more times than I can count. But alas, we made a decision.
We ordered mini corndogs, a pastrami burger for my fiancé, and a mushroom & swiss burger for myself. Both burgers came with a side of fries — I wanted tater tots but they were all out.
Let's talk taste. The mini corndogs were burnt. I actually think they would've tasted so much better if that weren't the case. The chef gave us more corndogs than what's on the menu but that's probably because he knew they were burnt (LOL)! The pastrami burger was meh. I can't think of another word to describe it. The beef patty was overcooked and the pastrami slices were dry. My mushroom & swiss burger was better but still not good. The beef patty was cooked to a medium-well but lacked flavor. There were no condiments on my burger so I kept dipping it in fry sauce hoping that would give it some life.
I'm not sure why The Blue Wave gets hyped up so much. We won't be coming back — at least not for the food.
GUT Bomb. Greasy fries. Store-bought buns. And just overall greasiness and heaviness.
How this place is the best burger in Idaho Falls is mine boggling
I guarantee you, you will feel like garbage after you eat this food

Finally, a flavorful burger!! Our waitress was a hoot and a half! I've tried Red Robin, Scotty's and a few more looking for a delicious burger and this place was top notch! My onion rings were fabulous! Definitely recommend!
Disappointed that there is not an option for zero stars. The food here is absolutely disgusting! Ordered the Sunday steak special with fries and added shrimp. And I'm cool with a good old Cisco battered fried shrimp, I understand that that's what lots of restaurants need to use but if you fry it till the shrimp has the texture of shrunk burnt eraser you've taken it too far but then put some golden color on the freaking tater tots so they're at least warm in the center. And the one saw one room coed bathroom stinks from the years of accumulated urine from years of drunk folks letting it fly! But let me tell you about the steak, no seasoning, it had the consistency of shoe leather and when I asked the bartender about the lack of seasoning she said to me "We aren't allowed to season anything, because of people with high cholesterol!" May I please remind everyone that this is a dive bar; there is not a soul walking in there on a regular basis that has any concern for their high cholesterol! I asked "how does every other restaurant get away with seasoning their food?" She said back to me with upmost sincerity "I have no idea!!". If you're looking for a spot with some fun character and maybe a good bite while you watch the game...go anywhere but here! They'll bring you greasy gross food, and you'll wait for the staff to have a couple smoke breaks while you wait for drinks and food, and you'll wish home was closer as you walk out as your stomach starts to cramp!
Our server/bartender was amazing as always. Mahalo Miss I.J. always refreshing to be in your energy. 5 stars only because of her!

The Blue Wave is one of those iconic Idaho Falls spots. They have some of the best burgers in town and plenty of cold beer to go along with it. Everyone who works there is fantastic, just be a little patient. It's not just a bar, they are making fresh food as well.
THE BURGER AND FRIES ARE SOOOOO DELICIOUSLY GREAT............SERIOUSLY.......YALL HAVE TO TRY THIS RESTAURANT OUT..........ALRIGHTY THEN...........MAY GOD BLESS YALL......ALWAYS........THE REASON WHY IM RECOMMENDING THE OTHER DISHES IS BECAUSE IF THE BURGER WAS THAT GREAT AND FRIES ALSO THEN IM SURE THE REST OF THE MENU IS GREAT ALSO........YALL NEED TO TRY.....BYYYYYEEEE.......LOL
