I had a move/arrival window of 2-5:30. Dispatch called once to let me know they were still on their morning move and were delayed and someone would call around noon, but provided no detail about timing or where they are coming from, and no one called. Very long story short, I just got a call saying my movers wouldn’t arrive until 6:45 PM, AT NIGHT. I’ve never had an experience like this but I know I don’t have anything to sleep on because everything is in boxes and furniture is at the old place. I wouldn’t choose this company again. Hopefully won’t be charged full price for an awful experience that did not meet anywhere near promised expectations. I had to pay a deposit to secure but I feel they should have paid me one for the EXTREME inconvenience and the fact that they were way outside the expected window.
DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!! My wife and I used them and are extremely displeased with their service. The movers didn’t latch the back of the truck when they were traveling to our new house and somewhere along the way the door came open. They called to let us know it was going to take them extra time because they were going to retrace their steps and recover our furniture that fell out. Once they got to our house they informed us that someone would be in contact with us before they left to rectify the situation. As they unloaded they showed us the items that were damaged. Our lazy boy recliner $699), the ottoman and chaise lounger ($550) and a shelf ($60). Fifteen minutes before they were done unloading the truck they said their boss TEXTED to ask how we would be paying. We informed the movers that we needed to speak to their boss before we made a payment because the damage to our furniture had not been addressed. Once on the phone with the “boss” he let us know that we signed a contract and if we didn’t pay they would close up the truck and leave with our stuff that hadn’t been unloaded. We ended up paying the $550 that we signed the contract for and the $100 security deposit. He told us that their was nothing he could do about the damage today, that it would need to be handled on Monday. We anticipated hearing from some one first thing on Monday, but no one has reached out to us. My wife and I both tried to call the phone numbers we have but we have been blocked. Save yourself the headache and money and use a different mover!! USE A DIFFERENT COMPANY, THIS COMANY IS A SCAM!!
Beware!! An unmarked truck showed up and neither movers introduced themselves. Parking the truck alone seemed like a difficult task to the driver. After getting close enough to him, I realized it was because he reeked of alcohol!
It was quoted over the phone that the charges would be for a one-time $199 service fee, $39 one-time fuel charge and $109 per hour with a three hour minimum and that there were no hidden fees. The phone rep said he would “email the contract” and the email stated the above points along with the items to be moved that we discussed and a disclaimer for major appliances and tv’s at the bottom.
The “no hidden fees” is a lie! There was an additional 2 1/2 hours tacked onto the bull. The driver didn’t even show me the total until AFTER charging my card when he asked for my signature. I emailed and phoned my concerns with no reply ever given. The move date was over three weeks ago, so it’s obvious that they take your money and RUN! See the other recent bad reviews and we’re all essentially saying the same thing.
We just moved from Dayton to Cincinnati, and having already done two moves this year decided to hire help. We didn't know what to expect as we hadn't hired help before, and let me tell you what: friendly, personable, quick, and awesome. They took a multi-day move and got it done inside of 4 hours including an hour of drive time. Even worked with us on things like removing a door to get the washer and dryer downstairs. Completely respectful of our need to shuffle pets around the house, worked hard and fast. We just bought this place so hopefully never have to move again, but if we do we will be calling Blue Oak Movers for help. Excellent service, quality, and price.
Not a terrible company, but some things left me with a bad taste. When the two guys arrived for the job they started demanding tips. I was of course going to tip them after the job was complete, but the demands right off the bat were super rude. They also didn’t have that great of a work ethic for what I paid them. They started getting ready to drive their truck to the new residence, and I had to chase after them and ask them to put ALL of the boxes from my apartment in the truck, as they just…. Didn’t load about 15 boxes, even though the truck had space. And as the cherry on top, they started telling me how ugly my new house was when they were moving me in. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re in a tight pinch.
I had really good things to say about this company until recently, I decided to change my review...Beth in the office is the one we worked with and she was great. Then we called because we were missing some belongings, our mountain bike, a 6 by 6 foot mirror that was really special to me that I got from a guest at the hotel I managed, and all of our kitchen supplies are missing. I was so impressed with their customer service and promptness.. until we had our belongings brought to us. I would have reccomended them to anyone. They had 5 stars until we were missing belongings and they haven't truly followed up with us regarding that issue. I presume they have insurance and all that. However every time I leave a message or even call back they never return my calls. I've been super disappointed with the decline of customer service. Not only did we pay them close to 300.00 monthly to store our stuff and 700.00 to move it there, we also had to purchase all new kitchen supplies and a mountain bike, but you cant replace a precious gift you got from someone..
Not a good move, not a good company! Really disorganized movers, I think they had no idea what to do. Lots of down time when they weren't even moving things. The truck was loaded so badly that I couldn't bring so many things. It's was probably at 50% but they had things loaded so there wasn't enough room. It was terrible!
They took hours to load a one bedroom apartment. So I was charged $700 more. Do not recommend, at all. Also, I've been trying to talk to someone in their company to let them know and to have some of the charge removed, but they don't call me back. Their sales people keep saying they'll have a supervisor call, and no one does. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY WITH BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. DON'T USE THEM TO MOVE.
This company is HORRIBLE!!!. Please do not use. They are very deceptive. They did not leave me with a receipt. They did not deduct the $100 dollar from total bill that I put down as a deposit as they said they would when I scheduled the move. They damaged my furniture and did not honor their contract as being insured and would cover damages. I was sick over the damage furniture I discovered after they left. Just plain sick. Then when I talked to Jamie who was very kind in scheduling my move, was not so kind and professional when I wanted to know why they had not deducted the $100 they said they would from total bill. She refused to call me back like she said she would and then when I called her back and got her she acted all offended that I even called her. Then she had some Maurice call me, don't know to this day who he is, about the $100 deposit and being deducted from final price and he tried to make up all this extra stuff the two guys did why I did not get that taken off, which was a lie. Then had the nerve to tell me I still owed them $20.What a joke. The moving guys said they charged me for 9:00 am to 3:45 pm. This Maurice tried to say they worked until 4:00pm. After I told him 3:45pm then he said I did not owe the $20. He said he would email me my receipt with telephone number to call about the damages. He never did. They did not even wrap my furniture like the company said they would, and did lots of damage to my furniture. I had to throw my daughter's desk away that they damage to the point I could not assemble it back together. And I paid $300 dollars for it not too long ago. Like I said, Maurice said he would be sending me my receipt in an hour through email and it would have a number that I could call concerning the damages with my pictures. I never got the email. Crooks they are. I will never use them again nor recommend. I will go back to Two Men and a Truck. I've used them several times and they have never damaged any of my furniture. Always gave me a receipt when they got finished. Between the two men I gave them a tip of $55. If I knew they had damaged my furniture and was going to cheat me out of $100 dollars they would have never got it. And they did not even say thank you. I guess they supposed they should have gotten more. And I even went to the store and brought them drinks during the process. And it took them almost 7 hours for a small move. I never had that happen before either. I'm still sick over my furniture being damage. I can't change that but I wish I could because I can't afford to buy new furniture but what I can do is NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND WARN OTHERS ABOUT THEM.
