Best WLM Reviews
This was our first visit to Blu Diner. While reading over a posted copy of a menu, we mentioned to one of the staff members that it was our first time in the restaurant. They had a lot of options to choose from and at that point they took the time to show us all the food options available and answered any questions we had for them. Between all of us we had curry shrimp, ox tails, liver and onions, greens, sweet potatoes, black eyed peas, cornbread and one of the most delicious Macaroni and cheese dishes I have ever had. The food was hot not luke warm and very flavorful. Customer service was also great. We will definitely be visiting again and trying more of their food choices that we didn't get a chance to sample today.
This is what you call soul food! The fried fish, cabbage, Mac n cheese, spaghetti and the cornbread was all on point and so flavorful! Definitely a go to when you looking for soul food in Jacksonville. Everyone in here showed good hospitality and makes you feel welcomed and Thanks you for visiting. Best of all they believe in Jesus. Thank you all❤️❤️❤️
I had fried liver in gravy with corn bread and beans and yams. The liver was cooked to the point of oblivion. It was too hard. Normally, liver is a very soft meat. This was tough. I have eaten soul food in the past; but I stopped more than 15 years ago to get healthy. This plate was not worth breaking that fast. My friend and I drove 31 miles to get to this place, and I'm sure we will find a new place on our next trip. Unfortunately, we wasted our time on this.
I have the jambalaya! And I am from New Orleans so when we order jambalaya, we are looking and tasting with the eyes of God. This food has been touched by the hands of LOVE!!!
First time ordering from here. I ordered through grub hub as a pick up. Pictures below: 1. Spaghetti w/Lima beans and Mac and cheese 2. Hamburger steak w/white rice, yams and Mac. Also ordered a side of spaghetti and cornbread. Mac and cheese was bland little to no flavor; lima beans were horrible: undercooked and no flavor at all. Spaghetti was over seasoned (salty) couldn’t eat it. Cornbread was ok nothing to rave about; yams were canned but they understood the assignment. Hamburger steak was flavorful and the rice was cooked right..the gravy was just ok. Don’t think I will try this place again.. wasn’t worth the $46 I paid.
I Ordered The Chitterlings And Seems Like They Were Put in a Grinder They Were Small As The Rice Grains, People You Don't Serve Chitterlings like that (My Husband Said That Was Grind To Make More) You Did Had It Season Just Right. My Husband Had The PigFeet and He Said They Were Real Good ???????? Next Time In Florida We will stop by, I Will Just Pass On The Chitterlings,.,..
Over priced and Small Portions.. I am visiting from Tampa. And I was looking to go to a soul food establishment.. unlike some of the soul food restaurants we have been to “Blue Diner’s plates are way over priced. While the compartment trays they use are the tiny ones.. I ordered one dinner and a side bowl of spaghetti, my total came to $35.45. Way too much for a small plate, besides I did not get full. That’s nearly $50. Besides 2 of the women seemed to get frustrated when asking them a question, the servers and Cashier had no patience as it was my first time.. The next time I want soul food I will look at other options.. and also look to see their compartment trays.
So many delicious southern soulful choices! Clean food area, and the customer service is Superior! I visited this quaint gem ???? nestled in a Plaza and I was NOT disappointed! Hot food, delicious flavors, and a fair serving for the cost. Overall 7.9/10 if you're in Duval County GO CHECK'EM OUT!! DELICIOUS FOOD! Pictured is their jambalaya pasta this cheesy dish is loaded with sausage, chicken, shrimp, peppers and some goodness gracious!!
