The best hot dog I have had in a very long time! Great toasted bun, great chili, and excellent cole slaw. I got the "straight" fries on the recommendation of the worker who took my order. She was right! They were great. Crispy and seasoned, my favorite type of fry. Highly recommend this place.
The food is alright,the price is not. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with potato wedges & my wife had a cheeseburger & and crinkled fries. The potato wedges were really small & only received 8. My wife maybe had 15 crinkle fries & the burgers were regular size, $25 for that,come on.
The best of every diner food world all in one place. Even fried scallops and different takes on other options. If you're coming through Western Virginia please stop and sample.
Under new ownership. The Old Dari King was much better in my personal opinion. My fiance and I stopped by after lunch hours around 2:30pm. There was only 1 car in front of us with a family of 4. They took their order and then ours. The Girl taking the orders was Great! She said where food is cooked to order it will be a few. That's fine I said. To my surprise the family in front of us ssit there 15 mins then had time to run other errands and return 30 minutes later and get their food. We ordered 3 cheeseburgers with everything, two being bacon cheeseburgers and 2 tots. We literally sit for 42 minutes! The burgers were smashed dry,the cheese looked like leather and the tomatoes soured from being rushed or just sitting because maybe the order wasn't made at the same time? The bacon almost chipped a tooth and looked like there was pieces from the grill that got thrown on from previous orders. It's always been a great place to eat and I had rated it 4 stars a couple years ago. The only reason I didn't take it back is due to all the construction and traffic in town of Clintwood and we had to be somewhere. I only ate about two bites then my fiance lost her appetite at that point because it looked like my bun had been set in some water because half the bun was wet with water on the bottom. The tots were good. The worst part it was over $30 for the 3 burgers and 2 tots. Not sure if I will return unless they get some help or something? Maybe they were stressed or backed up due to inexperience or short handed I couldn't say? But,it wasn't the same that's for sure. It looked to be steady and more people came but there was only 4 people in front of us and maybe a call in but I seen nobody come pick up while I was sitting there waiting. Maybe I just expected more? But, I would have been better off at Hardee's and they cook to order as well and it's done at least 10 mins after your order for at least $10 less for more food. Again, My opinion only. Maybe they were just having a bad or off day?
Usually stop here over morning around 5:45 for my job and they serve the best BLTs and cheddar rounds, I usually get egg and mayo on my BLT too, I prefer their cheddar rounds over pals, much cheaper priced too
NOT fast food. My husband and I stopped around 6:30 pm for burgers and fries and was told it was a 45 min wait before they could even begin cooking it!???? The lady acted like they did not want our business at all! So we left! You can drive approx 10-15 mins up the road to Robos! And it's Great!
This is a run of the mill hamburger joint. There are picnic tables to eat at if you don’t want to eat in your vehicle. There is no indoor seating. The menu is clearly visible, but no prices are listed.
We found the prices are too steep for a place where there is no indoor seating or free refills on your drink. The food simply isn’t worth what they’re asking for what they have.
We purchased two burgers, a plain hotdog, fries, fried pickles and fried mushrooms. We didn’t purchase drinks and our bill was almost $25. Considering just up the road is McDonalds, we expected our burgers and dogs to at least be 100% beef for the price we paid! As you can see the dog was a shriveled up pink thing. My son took two bites and was done.
There was nothing special about our experience. It was greasy, over priced, beside of the road food. We sat in our car and the road noise and exhaust smell was too overpowering to have our windows down. So it isn’t even a great place to drive up to. If the food were out of this world, I might change my mind, but for now this place is mediocre at best. #letsguide
I love love love the food the beef is excellent quality the Mc and cheese bites are to die for they are so good.will not be disappointed
