I ordered when I got there from my car,,The atmosphere was okay, The service was great. I ordered the cheeseburger with tater tots and a side order of onion rings and two sweet teas. The tea was the best part but it was just average tea. The cheeseburger was okay but the bottom bun was completely soggy, The tater tots was cold and mushy, And the onion rings were very hard, very cold and all of it was broken pieces. It's never been great but usually it's better than this I was hoping it would be good because my first choice down in front of Walmart was closed.
I had never been to Kings Mountain before but my job had me there for a few days. I was driving through around lunch when I saw cars lined up in the street trying to get to Blackwoods Drive-in. Every parking space at the drive-in was filled. I knew I had to try a place this popular. I made it back about an hour later and thought still busy I was able to park.
The menu is extensive as you can see in the photos but I love a good cheeseburger so that is what I had the first day. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had and the fries and cherry lemon Sundrop just added to the perfection. The meal and great service were so good I drove 20 minutes out of my way to go back the next day. I had to have another burger but this time I also ordered a hotdog. It too was excellent.
If near Kings Mountain find Blackwoods Drive-in and you won't be disappointed. Like I said it was so enjoyable I went back for a second visit while in Kings Mountain.
Got a burger basket, fries, and drink. It was good, just smaller portions these days. I went again, and the grilled chicken salad has gone up to $10.50 with tax and is in a half size container. But it is still the best in town!!
A real old fashioned drive-in. Good service, good food.
Stopped here on a roadtrip from NC to CA. The food exceeded my expectations. I got a cheeseburger and hush puppies. The hush puppies are THE BEST in the whole state!
Great food, hasn't changed over the years. That's what makes it special ! I had a Lottaburger with cheese, slaw, mayo & onion with fries and a Diet Cherry Lemon Sundrop. The wife had a Double Cheeseburger with chili and slaw with onion rings and a Diet Cherry Lemon Sundrop. Burger was hot and fresh and the fries were fantastic. The drink is ONE OF A KIND !!
The food was very good. With generous portions. I think 4 bucks for a medium drink with tax is astronomical, but the cheeseburger was very fairly priced and tasted great. The place definitely looks run down, but the food is worth it! I feel feeling oinky and the smaller burger with fries filled me up with some leftover. The staff was so nice and did not miss a single thing on my order. Brought me enough ketchup and salt so I didn't have to ask twice. It was a good experience. Though I am still salty about the beverage prices... it's crazy when a CHEESEburger is less than a cup of tea. ???? overall I'll look for this place every time I come back to town and I'll bring my own drink. It's very yummy ????
I called in a order last Friday,ordered double baskets only got single burgers,ordered foot long hotdog baskets and the onion rings was burnt so bad couldn’t even eat them called at 8 pm they would not answer, called later next week no manager to talk to, called today and the lady Brittney started I wish you would had called next day so I could verify your order,act like I was trying to cheat her.. I’ve been eating there for years because food was great, and even knew the late owner Scott Blackwell,god rest his soul was a very good man and would not had tolerated the service I got from them.. Just know it’s not run by original owner and they don’t take pride in customer service.I suggest to check your order and even taste check it before you leave because if not and you leave they will treat you like a criminal trying to cheat them..I would suggest not to even eat there again
