This quaint little diner is just lovely! The exterior has no big bells or whistles to draw your attention to, so you just might miss it as I have many times over until today when I saw someone coming out the door. Just an absolutely cute little restaurant. You walk in the door and it reminds me of a country store or a deli in the movies. The aromas coming from the kitchen welcome you with excitement. My waitress Raven made me feel right at home and took care of me right away. So I ordered a hotlink & burger withal the fixings and fries.
The place quickly filled up, probably with the locals. It was truly a pleasure. If you're driving into El Dorado it's on the right hand side the moment you get into this small town. I ordered RIG#1 burger..The burger was a very thin patty not overwhelming but grilled to perfection with that wonderful taste. I kinda felt like I was at someone's barbecue. Anyway stop by it's sweet ????
Hidden gem on S Main - off the beaten path technically. Owner and staff are great! Food is delicious! Every time I’m back in my home town to visit family this is a must. I recommend forgetting your “diet” and just enjoying great food cooked like it should be when you go here. See you again! Of course, thank you all for taking care of old Harry and putting up with his sas!
Overall the Black Gold Grill is an adorable little grill that offers extremely helpful hosts that go out of their way to make sure your experience is as best as if can be. The food isn't too bad either, I can't say it's the best I've ever had, but I can say it offers the best ranch sauce I've ever tasted in my life. Their onion rings are good, some were overcooked but the ones that were cooked perfectly were delicious. The burger had all the fixings, and not too bad, definitely an improvement from most fast foods in town.
As far as the atmosphere, I felt kinda cramped inside, as it isn't a huge place, but the interior is nice, and background is nice to listen to. Ive never been but I think sitting outside on a nice day and enjoying a meal would be pretty slnocr as I did see a few seats outside.
I want to state a specific case we had, in case they see my review and remember us. We had gotten our drinks and we're awaiting our food when we noticed our drinks were a bit on the sweet side and not as carbonated as it should. We mentioned it and not only did the waitress take care of it, but it was immediately taken care of. I also appreciate a hostess that doesn't try to push items on the menu at you when someone else is paying for your order but offers alternative solutions such as taking something home when you are in the mood to eat. I was dealing with mad acid reflux that day and someone else was paying so her suggestion worked perfectly, though I did end up eating some anyways because cold food is never as good as it is fresh.
I didn't get to try their BBQ, but I'll have to test it out next visit as it's definitely a place worth revising so you can get a chance to try things out and get your own opinion!
Called to find out what they served for breakfast. The lady on the phone was very helpful. I placed my order and when I got there it was ready. Food is delicious and will definitely be back for breakfast!
I had the 1/3 pound "Blowout" Bacon onion cheeseburger with BBQ sauce and ranch on a pretzel bun all in perfect balance. I am not sure why they call it the blowout, but it was fantastic. I will have to go back and try more! Hopefully soon.
Went out for something new with a friend. Had the hamburger and fresh cut fries. Came right after the rush. The lady was super nice, didn't rush us. Place was clean. A good place to repeat at.
I took the girls to lunch and even though we are all picky, we were each able to find the perfect dish. Very good food, great friendly service, and a homey small town atmosphere. Loved it!
Their hamburger and homemade french fries are very yummy ???? and always friendly service ????
