Our experience at Black Bear Diner was truly enjoyable. The atmosphere was inviting, with a fun and quaint ambiance that made us feel right at home. Our server Beth went above and beyond, providing attentive and helpful service throughout our meal. At the end, without us asking, she offered to get us to-go cups for our water. We had never been asked that by any other server before. We were very impressed!!
As for the food, while it was good, it didn't quite exceed expectations. The pancakes and waffles were tasty, but they didn't offer any unique or standout flavors. In essence, they were your typical breakfast staples. However, despite this, the overall dining experience was pleasant and satisfying. The combination of great service and a cozy atmosphere made for a memorable visit. If you're looking for a reliable spot for classic breakfast dishes in a charming setting, Black Bear Diner is definitely worth a visit.
We didn’t have to wait too long to be seated. The service was pretty quick. The portion sizes here are always big and filling. I love how they added powder sugar on top of the pancakes. The bacon was thick and crisp.
If you are looking for a large restaurant with large portions and large amounts of bears of all kinds of sizes and types with not very large prices in this economy, but with large amounts of wonderful flavor, you have found the place. An important note is that if you don't order the chicken fried steak, you are out of your mind.
Truly, this chicken fried steak is extraordinary. Highly recommended. The grits are divine as well. The pancakes are stellar, too.

I came with my neice today to redeem my free breakfast for my birthday and it was super packed, but despite that everyone was on top of it and our wait time was not very bad at all!! We were lucky enough to have Josh as our server. He was a knight in shinning breakfast!! Full disclosure, I am not a paid actor. Josh was on top of his game. He apologized constantly for the wait times, and it looked like he had so many tables!! But we were treated as though we were the only table. His attention and service was unmatched. He made us feel so appreciated for coming in and voiced that as well! I have never felt so appreciated for coming in to a restaurant & on top of that he gave me a free dessert for my birthday! He is the standard that all service should be measured by. Ive visited this location before, and will definitely be back and 45/10 request Josh's section!!
Food Quality:
It was amazing I got the country fried steak with house potatoes with 2 fried eggs and a biscuit. The taste is amazing. I’ve gotten this a few times and I love it. The serving portions were alright! I’m comparing it when the last location I went in St. George it was ginormous.
Service:
it was great! The server was very attentive and quick. She refilled our drinks with quickness. I was like impressed because she had a couple of tables and she did great taking care of all of them.
Cleanliness :
It was neat and tidy. Our table was wiped down before we sat down.
Pricing :
I think the pricing is fair. I mean if I get the same big amount I’m used to then it’s worth it.
Definitely try this place if you haven’t been.
Great food and reasonable prices! The service tonight was good but it seemed like the staff had worked a long day already and had too few people especially with how busy they were still after 7pm.
The food was hot and fresh. Service was great as well. Our server kept our coffee full at all times, which was a 10 in my books, and was always around in case you needed something.
Our server Andrea was AMAZING! We were a bigger, loud group with kids, and she kept a smile and great attitude the entire time! Our demands never stopped from needing more drinks (because the others got spilled, which is frustrating for anyone cleaning up after us) to needing more crayons, and ordering more & more food after our original food was delivered to whatever. The food was great, as it always is at this place. Thank you for being so kind to my family & for a great experience, Andrea!
