Absolutely amazing grouper sandwich! I’ve been wanting to go here for a while and it was worth the wait for sure. 3 of us got the fried grouper sandwich, one got the shrimp roll, one got a cheeseburger, and another got the shrimp po boy. Everyone loved their food. The Parmesan fries were amazing, the onion rings were perfect, and the slaw was delicious. I highly recommend. I would only add that the food is not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for.
This place used to be worth the 1 hour drive. The last few times we came and this being our last time was horrible. We ordered all our favorite items. The grouper sandwich that cost almost $30 was terrible. It fell apart and the grouper had no flavor. The conch fritters were almost burnt and the inside was mushy. Hardly had any conch. The onion rings were super cold so we asked to replace them with more fries. We heard the cashier ask the cook to make fries and instead made another batch of onion rings. They were hot but, the batter fell right off. The shrimp was just shrimp. Best thing going were the fries. Overall, terrible end to one of our use to be favorite restaurant. If you want great seafood go somewhere else. This place is not worth your money!!
Visiting Tampa so we thought we give it a try. We'll imo it's way Over rated, over priced. @Mike Chen, yo you wrong bro. Maybe they made something special for you as a YouTube influencer but.. it wasn't great. No umami flavors lol.
I feel the seasoning was too much on the sandwich and the nuggets. Also the fries weren't that great. Was bland. No, I didn't recommend, we spent nearly 70 bucks, not even worth it.
As much as they charge they should be able to fix their store, but some places are dilapidated.
Big Ray’s Fish Camp is a pleasant surprise with their delicious grouper sandwich, tasty coleslaw and warm customer service. The grouper sandwich is perhaps the best fish sandwich I’ve had in quite some time.
One very busy girl taking orders and expediting food. 4 guys just standing around in the kitchen. Cuban was a pulled pork sandwich with a slice of ham on butter soaked, flat top warmed bread. Onion rings were cold and undercooked. Grouper sandwich looked nothing like any of the photos online. Grouper was about the size of a hockey puck sliced on half horizontally. Fries limp and cold. Grouper cheeks were the only thing hot and fresh, and good. Everything else was really bad. Poor girl had to put up with an hour long line, way out the door. One serviceman in uniform had to get a refund because his called in order took too long. Maybe just a bad day. I don't recommend this place, especially with everything else in the area, and next door.
Delicious and generously portioned, grouper sandwich. Although the onion rings are hand battered and crispy, and I could tell that the fry oil is fresh, they had very little taste otherwise.
Do not expect a luxury environment. It is definitely a mom and pop shop which I liked.
Wasn’t super impressed. Most reviews were good. The food was ok. Didn’t have a ton of flavor. The oyster poboy was too big to even try and eat like a sandwich. Wasn’t all that flavorful. I can’t remember what my wife got, but she said hers didn’t have much flavor either. Neither one of us finished what we ordered, which is rare. Some of the other small restaurants were far better taste wise. Was disappointed.
Small little rustic seafood place. There are only a couple of tables inside, but there are plenty of tables outside. You will not find a better blackened grouper sandwich. Large portions of food. Awesome place, I highly recommend!
