Joe was open on a Saturday on a holiday weekend. First thing I noted was how friendly and caring he was. He offered a tow but I was able to limp my overheated hybrid to his garage. He got to work on diagnosing it personally right away, even let me be nosy to learn the workings of my car and ask questions. My wife and pet rabbit were with us and they gave us good hospitality. He even offered to find us a ride to our destination two hours away. A couple days later when the part finally arrived, he got to work on it right away and fixed it the same day so we could make the trip home and get back to work the very next day, Joe is clearly passionate about what he does and has many years of experience in the industry working on a wide variety of makes and models. Prices are reasonable, especially in this economy. Highly recommend Joe and the team!
BIG JOE'S is all about giving the vehicles what they need. My 20+ year daily driver, required massive TLC. They worked with me to prioritize a series of fixes to restore, and make right again. But, only the work that was necessary. Took years of grime and neglect off of my ride. With vigilant maintenance, fuel consumption has gone down about 10% (picked up an extra 3 MPG from 30 to 33; Happy to go from ok to great!) Big JOE'S simple and straight forward approach is what makes this pride and joy possible
Big Joe is the best guy that can rescue you! Traveling 5 states and alternator died on me. Towed me the same day, fixed and had the car ready for me the next day. Keep up the good work Joe!
OK, seriously … Big Joe is incredible! I was in an accident last August with the front grill and left fender ripped off my car. Five other local collision places old me they couldn’t even start work until October on it, IF they took it at all. I called Big Joe, he said to bring it down that afternoon, he cleared his schedule and was ordering parts on the cell in the first 10 minutes of his examination on it. He rebuilt the car back to performance level IN 12 DAYS and for less than half of what the insurance company was offering the repair for. Amazing! After three weeks of awesome performance, the car experienced starter problems. Big Joe came to flat-bed it down to his shop at 11 p.m. on the night before Labor Day to fix it! Unparalleled service and repairs! This guy should be your first-and-only stop for car repairs in Port Jervis. I could not recommend him more. This place is awful. And the owner sounded racist . My elderly grandfather called them for help Recently speaking Spanish and was laughed at by the owner who couldn't understand him. I was in the room and it was on speakerphone and heard everything. I wanted to speak for my grandfather but I was disgusted by Joe's disrespectful attitude . We took our business elsewhere and we advice others to do so as well.
This is a poorly ran shop. With a terrible owner who never even got certified to be a mechanic. Beware of going to this establishment. Save your money and find a real mechanic.
Big Jim's Garage did a great job on servicing my vehicle. Brakes went, they got me in within one day. They gave me a choice of pads and rotors at different price points. Turn around was quicker then estimated. First time there-I'll be repeat customer.
