I would give it a five star but my first time going to this restaurant was my birthday weekend which is two weeks ago. The host was really nice and set us down. We waited for about 20 minutes and no one came near us. Finally the restaurant manager Ariana noticed that we have not been served and she started taking our drink order, she was very nice and friendly. She actually helped us with our order in our drinks. She made our guacamole after she introduce us to Claudia, which would be our server which also was really nice but the male servers that serve chips and salsa were very rude! Once again the food was amazing thank you Ariana for all your help.
The ambiance was beautiful! We chose outdoor seating and so glad we did. The food was delicious and flavorful. My only complaint were the kids meals. It was pretty expensive for the portion sizes, and the fact they didn’t get a side besides two apple slices. My seven year old was still hungry and ate some of our food.
I can see why they're rated #1 Mexican restaurant in Tampa! Really really good. Food/atmosphere/service all A+ . I definitely recommend the table side guacamole. Really cute outdoor seating area. The inside is nice as well.
Besito is HANDS DOWN the best place to dine in Tampa Florida. The atmosphere is romantic and soft and the service was phenomenal. We didn’t even finish the chips and salsa before our food came out. Today is my 25th birthday and they made it special. Angelli was an amazing server and took very good care of us. We will be requesting her each time we dine here. 100/10 recommend dining at Besito!!!!!
Reasonably priced Mexican food with total class! Every time we’re in Tampa we try drop in. Not only phenomenal food with such a lovely atmosphere, but the staff, from the incredible owner to the servers! Carmen was such a jewel & treated us like royalty. From the Queso Fundido to the Polla Tinga & Carne Asada tacos! And don’t even get us started on their mouth watering desserts! What a treat!
Great food. Solid drinks. Truly the best service. Alex & Marco took amazing care of us from the moment we were seated until we left, even dropping off a small sweet bite before we left because we skipped dessert. Get the table side guac and if it’s a Tuesday, the Taco combo can’t be beat for the price & quality. Really enjoyed the ambiance of the patio - couldn’t tell you were right off the parking lot.
We made a reservation in advance to celebrate a birthday and requested a nice booth out of the way. We were sat in a noisy booth by the bar (there were open booths on the restaurant side that had much more ambiance). The portions are very small for the prices. The shrimp empanadas taste like something you can buy in bulk and cook in your air fryer at home. The queso is very difficult to eat and the onions were sliced so large they were difficult to eat, however the flavor was really good. The birria tacos and street corn were both good. The plantains were burnt and bitter. Our server came to our table a total of four times our entire meal; she left our drinks empty, we sat after appetizers while we waited for her to take our order; basically she took our orders and put food and a check on the table but we didn’t see her otherwise. We were told she was too busy with tables on the other side of the restaurant. She didn’t even mention they had specials, many of which we would have been interested in if she had pointed them out. She didn’t upsell or describe any menu items. She had zero personality. I’d rate this 1/5 for the service and 2/5 for the food. While the restaurant does have a nice atmosphere, we unfortunately were seated away from that like we were walk-ins. The manager was nice and did check on us and made sure we got everything we needed and kindly brought the birthday girl a piece of cake (we would have purchased flan if she didn’t bring that out unexpectedly so she probably should have waited to ask if we wanted dessert before just bringing that out, although it was a nice gesture). The entire experience made me wish we had booked our reservations elsewhere. If we had been at the mall and just needed a quick bite on the ride home perhaps I wouldn’t have minded the “bar food experience” we had tonight as much.
This place never disappoints! Food is great every time, and staff is always on point. During this visit Angelli eased our weekend lunch experience by empathizing with our toddler and having our food deliver to our table in a timely manner
