Booked the San Juan island with whale watching tour. The tour itself is beautiful but not much wildlife to see. No whales either. Was somewhat disappointing.
Took a cruise to Alaska on September 22nd that departed from here. Very nice terminal, and super clean; appreciated that there was an area for passengers to sit and wait to board after going through security. Coming back through the terminal at the end of the cruise was a breeze!
Nice terminal...very busy but very quick boarding process...staff very helpful
I like to look at boats. this is a great place to look at boats. you can rent one, well you can get a seat on these to go all the way to canada. i did that one time with me grandmother mee-maw. she was delighted the entire way even though there were waves but im not sure the boat could do anything about that as waves are a part of nature but the boat driver did wonderful and we showed up dry. thank you
I used this cruise terminal in August of 2016 for an Alaskan Cruise. It was aboard the Norwegian Pearl. The cruise was fantastic. Anyways the cruise terminal was clean. It was fast and easy. You were from curbside to gangway in about 15-30 minutes. The staff were amazing. They were nice and friendly people. It was a great start to a nice vacation.
Arrived and they told me my whale watching tour was canceled and that I needed to leave and call for a refund. I complained to a different agent who said my tour was not canceled.
They cut short our whale watching by 30 minutes and our time in Friday Harbor was cut short by an hour... yet somehow we still ended up getting back to Seattle at our original planned time.
Was a terrible experience that was the worst part of my vacation. We really never saw any wildlife either. An eagle or two from a mile away. Rocks that they said were seals. And the very tip of a whale poking out of the water during the whale watching portion... which was only about 20-30 minutes.
Victoria Clipper is a must-do journey to take if you want to see Puget Sound and also want to get to Victoria. Watch for whales and dolphins and arrive early to get a window seat. Terminal cafe has lots of character.
The posted weekend rate is $8.00 the charge was $30??!!! When I asked the gate attendant if he found that peculiar he stated “It’s really weird, just call the office.”
